Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A sounding reference signal (SRS) is being scheduled for transmission in the last symbol of subframe n on a first cell in a first cell group. The last symbol overlaps in time with transmission of an uplink packet in subframe n+1 in a second cell in a second cell group. The wireless device transmits the SRS if a power parameter is less than or equal to a maximum allowable transmission power in the symbol. A calculation of the power parameter considers transmission power of the uplink packet if the overlap in time exceeds a first duration.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A wireless device comprising: a) one or more communication interfaces; b) one or more processors; and c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said wireless device to: i) receive at least one message comprising configuration parameters of: (1) a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups; and (2) sounding reference signals (SRSs); ii) decode at least one information element triggering transmission of said SRSs, one of said SRSs being scheduled for transmission in the last symbol of subframe n on a first cell in a first cell group in said plurality of cell groups, said last symbol overlapping in time with transmission of an uplink packet in subframe n+1 in a second cell in a second cell group of said plurality of cell groups, said second cell group being different from said first cell group; and iii) transmit said one of said SRSs if a power value is less than or equal to a maximum allowable transmission power in said symbol, a calculation of said power value considering transmission power of said uplink packet if said overlap in time exceeds a first duration. 2. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said instructions, when executed, cause said wireless device to drop said one of said SRSs if said power value is more than said maximum allowable transmission power. 3. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said calculated power value is a total transmission power of said wireless device. 4. The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein said first duration is determined such that said total transmission power is less than or equal to said maximum allowable transmission power of said wireless device during said overlap in time. 5. The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein said total transmission power is limited to said maximum allowable transmission power of said wireless device during said overlap in time. 6. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said first duration is more than twenty micro seconds. 7. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said instructions, when executed, cause said wireless device to reduce a transient transmission power of at least one of said uplink packet and said SRS during said overlap in time, said overlap in time being less than a second duration. 8. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said calculation ignores transmission power of said uplink packet if said overlap in time is smaller than a second duration. 9. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein said second duration is less than or equal to said first duration. 10. The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein said uplink packet is transmitted on one of: a) a physical uplink control channel; and b) a physical uplink shared channel. 11. A method for use by a wireless device, the method comprising: a) receiving at least one message comprising configuration parameters of: i) a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups; and ii) sounding reference signals (SRSs); b) decoding at least one information element triggering transmission of said SRSs, one of said SRSs being scheduled for transmission in the last symbol of subframe n on a first cell in a first cell group in said plurality of cell groups, said last symbol overlapping in time with transmission of an uplink packet in subframe n+1 in a second cell in a second cell group of said plurality of cell groups, said second cell group being different from said first cell group; and c) transmitting said one of said SRSs if a power value is less than or equal to a maximum allowable transmission power in said symbol, a calculation of said power value considering transmission power of said uplink packet if said overlap in time exceeds a first duration. 12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising dropping said one of said SRSs if said power value is more than said maximum allowable transmission power. 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein said calculated power value is a total transmission power of said wireless device. 14. The method of claim 13 , wherein said first duration is determined such that said total transmission power is less than or equal to said maximum allowable transmission power of said wireless device during said overlap in time. 15. The method of claim 13 , wherein said total transmission power is limited to said maximum allowable transmission power of said wireless device during said overlap in time. 16. The method of claim 11 , wherein said first duration is more than twenty micro seconds. 17. The method of claim 11 , further comprising reducing a transient transmission power of at least one of said uplink packet and said SRS during said overlap in time, said overlap in time being less than a second duration. 18. The method of claim 11 , wherein said calculation ignores transmission power of said uplink packet if said overlapping in time is smaller than a second duration. 19. The method of claim 18 , wherein said second duration is less than or equal to said first duration. 20. The method of claim 11 , wherein said uplink packet is transmitted on one of: a) a physical uplink control channel; and b) a physical uplink shared channel.
