The present invention relates generally to functional sweetener compositions comprising non-caloric or low-caloric natural and/or synthetic, high-potency sweeteners and methods for making and using them. In particular, the present invention relates to different functional sweetener compositions comprising at least one non-caloric or low-caloric natural and/or synthetic, high-potency sweetener, at least one sweet taste improving composition, and at least one functional ingredient, such as a vitamin. The present invention also relates to functional sweetener compositions and methods that can improve the tastes of non-caloric or low-caloric high-potency sweeteners by imparting a more sugar-like taste or characteristic. In particular, the functional sweetener compositions and methods provide a more sugar-like temporal profile, including sweetness onset and sweetness linger, and/or a more sugar-like flavor profile.

We claim: 1. A beverage comprising at least one vitamin, rebaudioside A and erythritol, wherein: the rebaudioside A has a purity greater than about 97% by weight on a dry basis and the weight ratio of rebaudioside A to erythritol is from about 1:75 to about 1:150. 2. The beverage of claim 1 , wherein the vitamin is selected from the group consisting of is selected from the group consisting of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B3, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin E and combinations thereof. 3. The beverage of claim 1 , wherein the beverage is selected from the group consisting of a noncarbonated beverage, carbonated beverage, cola, root beer, fruit-flavored beverage, citrus-flavored beverage, fruit juice, fruit-containing beverage, vegetable juice, vegetable containing beverage, tea, coffee, dairy beverage, sports drink, energy drink, and flavored water. 4. The beverage of claim 3 , wherein the beverage is a sports drink. 5. The beverage of claim 1 , further comprising at least one sweet taste improving composition selected from the group consisting of carbohydrates, amino acids and their corresponding salts, polyamino acids and their corresponding salts, sugar acids and their corresponding salts, organic acids, inorganic acids, organic salts, inorganic salts, bitter compounds, flavorants, astringent compounds, polymers, proteins, protein hydrolysates, surfactants, emulsifiers, flavonoids, alcohols, synthetic sweeteners and combinations thereof. 6. The beverage of claim 1 , wherein the beverage comprises a citric acid/potassium citrate composition.
