Disclosed are coating material compositions comprising at least one polyhydroxyl group-containing compound (A), at least one polyisocyanate group-containing compound (B) having free and/or blocked isocyanate groups, at least one catalyst (D) based on a zinc-amidine complex which comprises the reaction product of 1.0 moles of at least one zinc(II) biscarboxylate with more than 2.0 moles of at least one amidine where R 5 =hydrogen and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , and R 4 are each identical or different radicals, R 1 and R 3 being hydrogen or an alkyl radical or an aryl radical, and R 2 and R 4 being an alkyl radical or an aryl radical, and at least one monomeric aromatic, optionally substituted carboxylic acid (S) whose carboxyl group is in conjugation with a π-electron system.
