Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present disclosure relates to protein and nucleic acid mutants of chondroitinase ABCI. Such nucleic acid mutants encode for chondroitinase ABCI mutant enzymes exhibiting altered chondroitin lyase activity or increased resistance to inactivation from stressors including UV light or heat. Methods of using such nucleic acid mutants encoding chondroitinase ABCI mutant enzymes is also provided.

What is claimed is: 1. An isolated nucleic acid sequence comprising a nucleotide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO: 10, SEQ ID NO: 13, and SEQ ID NO: 14, encoding a mutant chondroitinase ABCI enzyme. 2. The isolated nucleic acid sequence of claim 1 , wherein the nucleic acid sequence encodes a mutant chondroitinase ABCI enzyme selected from SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 5, and SEQ ID NO: 6. 3. The isolated nucleic acid sequence of claim 1 , where…
