Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A wearable absorbent article comprises a reusable outer cover and a disposable absorbent insert. The reusable outer cover comprises a first insert fastener component in a front waist region proximate to a waist opening edge of the reusable outer cover. The first insert fastener component comprises a first end positioned most proximate to the waist opening edge and a second end positioned most distal from the waist opening edge. An insert-gripping recess is formed in the first end in an area covering a longitudinal axis of the reusable outer cover. The disposable absorbent insert comprises a first fastener component in a forward region of the insert and configured to be joined to the first insert fastener component to attach the insert to the reusable outer cover.

What is claimed is: 1. A wearable absorbent article comprising: a reusable outer cover comprising: a front waist region; a rear waist region; a crotch region disposed intermediate the front waist region and the rear waist region; a waist opening edge; a generally planar first insert fastener component in the front waist region proximate to the waist opening edge, wherein the first insert fastener component comprises a first end positioned most proximate to the waist opening edge and a second end positioned most distal from the waist opening edge, and wherein an insert-gripping recess is defined into the first end of the first insert fastener component and has at least a portion that extends from the first end of the first insert fastener component toward the second end of the first insert fastener component; and a second insert fastener component in the rear waist region proximate to the waist opening edge; and a disposable absorbent insert comprising: a forward region; a rearward region; a crotch region disposed intermediate the forward region and the rearward region; a first fastener component in the forward region configured to be joined to the first insert fastener component to attach the insert to the reusable outer cover; and a second fastener component in the rearward region configured to be joined to the second insert fastener component to attach the insert to the reusable outer cover. 2. The wearable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the wearable absorbent article forms a pant. 3. The wearable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the second insert fastener component comprises a first end positioned most proximate to the waist opening edge and a second end positioned most distal from the waist opening edge,—wherein a second insert-gripping recess is defined into the first end of the second insert fastener component, and wherein the second insert fastener component is positioned on a wearer-facing surface of the reusable outer cover. 4. The wearable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the reusable outer cover comprises a third insert fastener component positioned in the crotch region, wherein the disposable absorbent insert comprises a third fastener component positioned in the crotch region configured to be joined to the third insert fastener component to attach the insert to the reusable outer cover. 5. The wearable absorbent article of claim 4 , wherein the third insert fastener component and the third fastener component together form a self-aligning fastener. 6. The wearable absorbent article of claim 5 , wherein the first insert fastener component and the first fastener component together form a discrete fastener. 7. The wearable absorbent article of claim 5 , wherein the second insert fastener component and the second fastener component together form a discrete fastener. 8. The wearable absorbent article of claim 5 , wherein the first insert fastener component and the first fastener component together form a self-aligning fastener. 9. The wearable absorbent article of claim 5 , wherein the second insert fastener component and the second fastener component together form a self-aligning fastener. 10. The wearable absorbent article of claim 4 , wherein the third insert fastener component and the third fastener component together form a discrete fastener. 11. The wearable absorbent article of claim 10 , wherein the first insert fastener component and the first fastener component together form an adjustable fastener. 12.
