A portable device and method of manufacturing a display device includes a display panel having a glass substrate and a polarizer adhered to the glass substrate, a touch panel which is made of resin material and adhered to the polarizer of the display panel by a first adhesive material, and a front window which is made of glass and adhered to the touch panel by a second adhesive material. One of the first adhesive material and the second adhesive material is an adhesive sheet, and an other of the first adhesive material and the second adhesive material is an ultraviolet-curing adhesive material.

What is claimed is: 1. A display device comprising: a display panel which is made of a first rigid material as a glass material; a touch panel which is made of an elastic material and is formed over the display panel; a front window sheet which is made of a second rigid material and is formed over the touch panel; a first adhesive layer which is between and adhered to the display panel and the touch panel; and a second adhesive layer which is between and adhered to the touch panel and the front window sheet, wherein an area of the front window sheet is larger than an area of the touch panel, and the area of the front window sheet is larger than an area of the display panel; and wherein the second rigid material is a reinforced glass, the elastic material is made of a resin layer, and the first rigid material is a liquid crystal panel which is formed of two glass substrates with a liquid crystal layer sandwiched therebetween; wherein one of the two glass substrates is a first substrate and the other of the two glass substrates is a second substrate; wherein the second substrate is arranged to face the first substrate; wherein the first rigid material includes a semiconductor chip which is mounted on a region of a liquid-crystal-layer-side surface of the first substrate excluding a region where the first substrate faces the second substrate, and a polarizer is arranged on the second substrate; and wherein the first adhesive layer is adhered between the polarizer and the touch panel, and wherein a thickness of the semiconductor chip is smaller than a sum of a thickness of the polarizer and a thickness of the second substrate. 2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein one of the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer is an ultraviolet-curing adhesive material, and the other of the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer is an adhesive material sheet. 3. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein an adhesive strength of the ultraviolet-curing adhesive material is greater than an adhesive strength of the adhesive material sheet. 4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein one edge of the touch panel projects from a region which faces the semiconductor chip in an opposed manner so as to prevent the one edge of the touch panel from coming into contact with an upper surface of the semiconductor chip when the one edge of the touch panel is displaced in the first substrate direction. 5. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the semiconductor chip is smaller than a sum of one half of the thickness of the polarizer and the thickness of the second substrate. 6. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the semiconductor chip is larger than the thickness of the second substrate. 7. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a conductive tape adhered to, and providing an electrical discharge conduction path between, the first substrate and the second substrate of the two glass substrates of the display panel, for discharge protection. 8. The display device according to claim 7 , wherein the conductive tape is more specifically a thermocompression bonded conductive tape having been thermocompressively bonded to the first and second substrates. 9. The display device according to claim 7 , wherein the conductive tape connects between a conductive film formed on the second substrate and a ground electrode formed in the region of the liquid-crystal-layer-side surface of the first substrate excluding the region where the first substrate faces the second substrate, and wherein the display panel is an IPS type liquid crystal panel.
