A virus-like particle (VLP) comprising an influenza M1 protein and at least one of an influenza hemacelutinin (HA) protein and an influenza neuraminidase (NA) protein, wherein said M1 protein comprises the amino acid residues YKKL at the positions corresponding to positions 100-103 of SEQ ID NO: 49, wherein the VLP lacks a viral genome and is non-infectious. 2.
