What is claimed is: 1. A method of making a marked paper product, the method comprising irradiating only a discrete portion of a paper product with at least 0.10 MRad of electron beam radiation, the electrons having an energy of at least 0.25 MeV, under conditions selected to alter the functionalization of the portion of the paper product so as to mark the paper product with a marking that is not visible to the naked eye. 2.
