A method of making a metal material, the method comprising: (i) contacting at least one precursor of a metal material with a peptide in the presence of a reducing agent, wherein the peptide specifically binds to the at least one precursor of the metal material; and (ii) selectively nucleating the metal material by the peptide, wherein the peptide is between about 7 and about 20 amino acids long and comprises a sequence selected from SEQ ID Nos. 12-18.…
