Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present invention relates to novel substituted 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-7-yl carbamates, their preparation, and use as therapeutic agents, particularly in the prevention or treatment of neurodegenerative or Alzheimer's disease, or senile dementia, or memory disturbances, and more particularly to the prevention, treatment and amelioration of Alzheimer's disease with the novel substituted 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolin-7-yl carbamates, which act as inhibitors of central cholinesterase enzymes, particularly acetylcholinesterase (AChE) following the indirect cholinomimetic pathway. The present invention particularly relates to compounds of formula A: Formula A wherein R 1 =alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl; R 2 =H, methyl; R 3 =H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl, substituted aralkyl, aryl, heteroaryl.
