When the appearance of the content changes, if the change in appearance of the content meets first criteria, the value of the display property of the affordance changes in accordance with the value of the display property of the content based on a first transformation, wherein the display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a first range of values based on the first transformation; and if the change in appearance of the content meets second criteria, the value of the display property of the affordance is changed in accordance with the value of the display property of the content based on a second transformation, wherein the display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a second range of values based on the second transformation, different from the first range of values based on the first transformation.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method, comprising: at a device having a display generation component and one or more input devices: displaying, via the display generation component, content and an affordance, wherein: the affordance is displayed over a portion of the content; and a value of a first display property of the affordance is determined based a value of the first display property of the portion of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and while displaying the content and the affordance, detecting a change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and in response to detecting the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed, changing the appearance of the affordance, including: in accordance with a determination that the change in appearance of the content meets first criteria, changing the value of the first display property of the affordance in accordance with the value of the first display property of the content over which the affordance is displayed, based on a first transformation, wherein the first display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a first affordance-appearance range of values based on the first transformation; and in accordance with a determination that the change in appearance of the content meets second criteria different from the first criteria, changing the value of the first display property of the affordance in accordance with the value of the first display property of the content over which the affordance is displayed, based on a second transformation different from the first transformation, wherein the first display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a second affordance-appearance range of values based on the second transformation, different from the first affordance-appearance range of values based on the first transformation. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein: the first criteria are based on whether the change in appearance of the content causes a predefined measure of content appearance to cross a predefined threshold value. 3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein, the predefined threshold value is selected based on a current range of values that is being used as the first affordance-appearance range of values. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein: changing the appearance of the affordance in response to detecting the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed includes changing the value of the first display property of the affordance in accordance with the value of the first display property of the content over which the affordance is displayed, based on an intermediate transformation, and the first display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a third affordance-appearance range of values that is between the first affordance-appearance range of values and the second affordance-appearance range of values, based on the intermediate transformation. 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed is caused by scrolling of the content. 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed is caused by movement of the content under the affordance. 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the change in appearance of the content is due to content navigation. 8 . The method of claim 1 , the change in appearance of the content is due to the content changing over time. 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a current value of the first display property of the content is obtained by blurring the portion of the content. 10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein: based on the first transformation, the current value of the first display property of the content is obtained applying a first amount of blur to the portion of the content that underlies the affordance; and based on the second transformation, the current value of the first display property of the content is obtained applying a second amount of blur to the portion of the content that underlies the affordance; and the second amount of blur is different from the first amount of blur. 11 . The method of any of claim 1 , wherein a current value of the first display property of the content is obtained by desaturating the portion of the content. 12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein: the first transformation is based on a first set of filters applied to the portion of the content that underlies the affordance, the second transformation is based on a second set of filters applied the portion of the content that underlies the affordance, and for two or more filters in the second set of filters, the first set of filters includes a corresponding filter of the same type and with different adjustment parameters. 13 . A computer system, comprising: a display generation component; one or more input devices; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs, the one or more programs including instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations including: displaying, via the display generation component, content and an affordance, wherein: the affordance is displayed over a portion of the content; and a value of a first display property of the affordance is determined based a value of the first display property of the portion of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and while displaying the content and the affordance, detecting a change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and in response to detecting the change in appearance of the content over which the affordance is displayed, changing the appearance of the affordance, including: in accordance with a determination that the change in appearance of the content meets first criteria, changing the value of the first display property of the affordance in accordance with the value of the first display property of the content over which the affordance is displayed, based on a first transformation, wherein the first display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a first affordance-appearance range of values based on the first transformation; and in accordance with a determination that the change in appearance of the content meets second criteria different from the first criteria, changing the value of the first display property of the affordance in accordance with the value of the first display property of the content over which the affordance is displayed, based on a second transformation different from the first transformation, wherein the first display property of the affordance is constrained to vary within a second affordance-appearance range of values based on the second transformation, different from the first affordance-appearance range of values based on the first transformation. 14 . A computer readable storage medium that stores one or more programs, the programs including instructions that, when executed by a computer system with a display generation component and one or more input devices, cause the computer system to: display, via the display generation component, content and an affordance, wherein: the affordance is displayed over a portion of the content; and a value of a first display property of the affordance is determined based a value of the first display property of the portion of the content over which the affordance is displayed; and while displaying the content and the affordance, detect a change in appearance of the conte
