Official abstract text for this publication.
This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: receiving first information, where the first information indicates a manner of obtaining a timing advance (TA) of a first cell; and obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information. According to the technical solution provided in this application, the obtaining manner of obtaining the TA of the first cell is configured for the terminal apparatus based on the first information. Therefore, before receiving a cell handover command, the terminal apparatus may obtain the TA of the first cell in the manner indicated by the first information, to complete uplink synchronization with the first cell. Therefore, after the terminal apparatus is handed over to the first cell, it may no longer perform the uplink synchronization process. Therefore, a handover delay of handover to the first cell can be reduced.

What is claimed is: 1 . A communication method, applied to a terminal apparatus, and comprising: receiving first information, wherein the first information indicates a manner of obtaining a timing advance (TA) of a first cell; and obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information. 2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises: receiving second information, wherein the second information indicates a manner of obtaining a TA of a first cell set, and the first cell is comprised in the first cell set; and the obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information comprises: obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information and the second information. 3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first cell is a candidate cell. 4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the manner, indicated by the first information, of obtaining the TA of the first cell further comprises: sending the preamble to the first cell, or sending an uplink reference signal to the first cell, or obtaining the TA through a downlink timing difference. 5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein after the obtaining the TA of the first cell, the method further comprises: starting or restarting a timer. 6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the method further comprises: if the cell handover command is not received before the timer expires, releasing a first TA after the timer expires; or releasing a first TA after receiving the cell handover command; or if the cell handover command is received before the timer expires, but a serving cell after handover or a second candidate cell set of the terminal apparatus after handover does not comprise the first cell, releasing a first TA. 7 . A communication method, comprising: sending first information to a terminal apparatus, wherein the first information indicates a manner of obtaining a timing advance (TA) of a first cell. 8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the method further comprises: sending second information to the terminal apparatus, wherein the second information indicates a manner of obtaining a TA of a first cell set, and the first cell is comprised in the first cell set. 9 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the first cell is a candidate cell. 10 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the manner, indicated by the first information, of obtaining the TA of the first cell further comprises: sending a preamble to the first cell, or sending an uplink reference signal to the first cell, or obtaining the TA through a downlink timing difference. 11 . A communication apparatus, comprising: at least one processor; and one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor to: receiving first information, wherein the first information indicates a manner of obtaining a timing advance (TA) of a first cell; and obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information. 12 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , further comprising: receiving second information, wherein the second information indicates a manner of obtaining a TA of a first cell set, and the first cell is comprised in the first cell set; and the obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information comprises: obtaining the TA of the first cell based on the first information and the second information. 13 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the first cell is a candidate cell. 14 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the manner, indicated by the first information, of obtaining the TA of the first cell further comprises: sending the preamble to the first cell, or sending an uplink reference signal to the first cell, or obtaining the TA through a downlink timing difference. 15 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein after the obtaining the TA of the first cell, further comprising: starting or restarting a timer. 16 . The apparatus according to claim 15 , further comprising: if the cell handover command is not received before the timer expires, releasing a first TA after the timer expires; or releasing a first TA after receiving the cell handover command; or if the cell handover command is received before the timer expires, but a serving cell after handover or a second candidate cell set of the terminal apparatus after handover does not comprise the first cell, releasing a first TA.
