The present disclosure relates to virus-like particles and vaccine compositions for inducing immunity and preventing respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection.
Opening claim text (preview).
1 . A virus like particle (VLP) comprising a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) M protein and an RSV M2-1 protein. 2 . The VLP of claim 1 , wherein the VLP comprises one or more additional RSV proteins. 3 . The VLP of claim 1 , wherein the VLP comprises an RSV F protein. 4 . The VLP of claim 3 , wherein the RSV F protein is selected from a group consisting of a pre-fusion form of the RSV F protein, a post-fusion form of the RSV F protein, and a carbonyl terminal portion of the RSV F protein. 5 . The VLP of claim 3 , wherein the RSV F protein comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 23, SEQ ID NO: 26, SEQ ID NO: 29, SEQ ID NO: 32, SEQ ID NO: 34, SEQ ID NO: 36, and SEQ ID NO: 37. 6 . The VLP of claim 3 , wherein the carbonyl terminal portion of the RSV F protein comprises a sequence of SEQ ID NO: 32. 7 . The VLP of claim 1 , wherein the VLP comprises an RSV G protein. 8 . The VLP of claim 7 , wherein the RSV G protein is from RSV group A or RSV group B. 9 . The VLP of claim 7 , wherein the RSV G protein comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 9, SEQ ID NO: 11, SEQ ID NO: 13, SEQ ID NO: 15, SEQ ID NO: 17, SEQ ID NO: 19, and SEQ ID NO: 21. 10 . The VLP of claim 1 , wherein the VLP comprises a recombinant RSV G protein. 11 . The VLP of claim 10 , wherein the recombinant RSV G protein comprises a transmembrane domain of an RSV G protein and a central conserved domain of the RSV G protein. 12 . A vaccine comprising the VLP of claim 1 . 13 . The vaccine of claim 12 , further comprising an adjuvant. 14 . A method of inducing immunity to RSV infection or at least one symptom thereof in a subject, comprising administering one or more effective doses of the vaccine of claim 12 . 15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the one or more effective doses of the vaccine are administered to the subject via a route that is selected from the group consisting of an intramuscular route, a subcutaneous route, an intradermal route, an oral administration, a nasal administration, and inhalation. 16 .- 27 .
