A modular connector includes a first housing, a first terminal module, a second terminal module and a grounding connection member. The first terminal module includes a number of first conductive terminals and a first metal shielding plate. The first conductive terminals include a first ground terminal, a first signal terminal, a second signal terminal and a second ground terminal. The second terminal module includes a number of second conductive terminals and a second metal shielding plate. The second conductive terminals include a third ground terminal, a third signal terminal, a fourth signal terminal and a fourth ground terminal. The grounding connection member is electrically connected to the first ground terminal, the second ground terminal and the second metal shielding plate, respectively, so as to improve the quality of signal transmission. A connector assembly including the modular connector is also disclosed.
