Disclosed is a secondary battery capable of reducing and/or eliminating an external terminal structure, thereby reducing the number of parts and production costs thereof. The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate, a first case mounted in a shape surrounding at least one surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the first electrode plate, a second case mounted in a shape surrounding at least the opposite surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode plate, and an insulating gasket located between the first case and the second case and made of an insulative material to block electrical connection between the first case and the second case.

What is claimed is: 1 . A secondary battery comprising: an electrode assembly comprising a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate; a first case mounted in a shape surrounding at least one surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; a second case mounted in a shape surrounding at least an opposite surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode plate; and an insulating gasket located between the first case and the second case, the insulating gasket comprising an insulative material, wherein electrical connection between the first case and the second case is blocked. 2 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising: a first connection tab connected to the first electrode plate and extending above the electrode assembly and/or in a direction towards the first case, such that the first connection tab is electrically connected to the first case; and a second connection tab connected to the second electrode plate and extending below the electrode assembly and/or in a direction towards the second case such that the second connection tab is electrically connected to the second case. 3 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the first connection tab is connected to one side of the first electrode plate in a longitudinal direction of the first electrode plate, and wherein the second connection tab is connected to one side of the second electrode plate in a longitudinal direction of the second electrode plate. 4 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the first connection tab is welded to the first case, and wherein the second connection tab is welded to the second case. 5 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second case is disposed on the first case, and a first end portion of the second case is located inside the first case. 6 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the insulating gasket is mounted in a shape surrounding the first end portion of the second case to block electrical connection between the first case and the second case. 7 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the insulating gasket comprises: an inner gasket abutting an inner surface of the second case; an outer gasket abutting an outer surface of the second case; and a connection gasket interconnecting the inner gasket and the outer gasket. 8 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 7 , wherein a length of the outer gasket in a vertical direction is greater than a length of the inner gasket in the vertical direction. 9 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 7 , wherein a length of the second case in a vertical direction is greater than a length of the outer gasket in the vertical direction. 10 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the length of the outer gasket in the vertical direction is greater than a length of the first case in the vertical direction. 11 . A secondary battery comprising: an electrode assembly comprising a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate; a first case configured to cover a first side of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; a second case electrically connected to the second electrode plate and configured to accommodate the electrode assembly, the second case comprising a side covered by the first case; and an insulating gasket located between the first case and the second case, the insulating gasket comprising an insulative material. 12 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the first case and the second case are formed as conductors and have different polarities. 13 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the insulating gasket comprises: an inner gasket abutting an inner surface of the second case; an outer gasket abutting an outer surface of the second case; and a connection gasket interconnecting the inner gasket and the outer gasket. 14 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the first case comprises: a first case body formed to allow a first connection tab connected to the first electrode plate to be electrically connected thereto and to cover the first side of the electrode assembly; and a first extension member extending away from an edge of the first case body to be located outside the outer gasket. 15 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the second case comprises: a second case body formed to allow a second connection tab connected to the second electrode plate to be electrically connected thereto and to cover a second side of the electrode assembly; and a second extension member extending away from an edge of the second case body to be located between the outer gasket and the inner gasket. 16 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 15 , wherein a length of the second extension member in a vertical direction is greater than a length of the outer gasket in the vertical direction. 17 . The secondary battery as claimed in claim 15 , wherein a length of the outer gasket in a vertical direction is greater than a length of the first extension member in the vertical direction. 18 . A method of manufacturing a secondary battery, the method comprising: providing an insulating gasket located between a first case and a second case such that electrical connection between the first case and the second case is blocked, wherein: the first case mounted in a shape surrounding at least one surface of an electrode assembly, the electrode assembly comprising a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate, and electrically connected to the first electrode plate; the second case mounted in a shape surrounding at least an opposite surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode plate; and the insulating gasket comprises an insulative material. 19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the insulating gasket is mounted in a shape surrounding a first end portion of the second case to block electrical connection between the first case and the second case. 20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein a first connection tab, the first connection tab connected to the first electrode plate and extending above the electrode assembly and/or in a direction towards the first case, electrically connects the first case to the first electrode plate; and a second connection tab, the second connection tab connected to the second electrode plate and extending below the electrode assembly and/or in a direction towards the second case, electrically connects the second case to the second electrode plate.
