Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A substrate for display comprises one surface, the other surface, a first area (folding area) and a second area (non-folding area). A first hole passing through the one surface and the other surface is formed on the first area. A 1-1 groove is formed on one surface of the first area in the direction from the one surface to the other surface. A 1-2 groove is formed on the other surface of the first area in the direction from the other surface to the one surface. A 2-1 groove is formed on one surface of the second area in the direction from the one surface to the other surface. A 2-2 groove is formed on the other surface of the second area in the direction from the other surface to the one surface. The 1-1 groove and 1-2 groove and the 2-1 groove and 2-2 groove do not overlap each other in the thickness direction of the substrate for display.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1 . A substrate for display comprising: a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface to be folded based on a folding axis; a first area adjacent to the folding axis and a second area farther from the folding axis than the first area, wherein the first area is a region including the folding axis, and the second area is provided on both sides of the first region, wherein a first hole is formed in the first area to pass through the first surface and the second surface, wherein a second groove is formed in the second area to partially pass through the substrate from the first surface toward the second surface; and wherein a depth of the second groove is less than a thickness of the substrate. 2 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove is formed to extend in a column in a first direction corresponding to a direction in which the folding axis extends. 3 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, wherein an interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other is greater than the thickness of the substrate. 4 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the first hole includes a plurality of hole patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, and wherein an interval in the second direction between two hole patterns adjacent to each other is different from the thickness of the substrate. 5 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, wherein the first hole includes a plurality of hole patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, and wherein an interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other is different from an interval in the second direction between two hole patterns adjacent to each other. 6 . The substrate for display of claim 5 , wherein the interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other is greater than the interval in the second direction between two hole patterns adjacent to each other. 7 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, wherein an interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other is different from a width in the second direction of each of the plurality of groove patterns. 8 . The substrate for display of claim 7 , wherein the interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other is greater than the width in the second direction of each of the plurality of groove patterns. 9 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, wherein the first hole includes a plurality of hole patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, and wherein an interval in the second direction between the groove pattern closest to the first area and the hole pattern closest to the groove pattern is greater than the thickness of the substrate. 10 . The substrate for display of claim 9 , wherein the interval in the second direction between the groove pattern closest to the first area and the hole pattern closest to the groove pattern is greater than a width in the second direction of the groove pattern. 11 . The substrate for display of claim 9 , wherein the interval in the second direction between the groove pattern closest to the first area and the hole pattern closest to the groove pattern is greater than an interval in the second direction between two groove patterns adjacent to each other. 12 . The substrate for display of claim 9 , wherein the interval in the second direction between the groove pattern closest to the first area and the hole pattern closest to the groove pattern is greater than an interval in the second direction between two hole patterns adjacent to each other or a width in the second direction of the hole pattern. 13 . The substrate for display of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, and wherein a size of a width/depth of the plurality of groove patterns is 0.5 to 3. 14 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the second groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction corresponding to the folding axis, and wherein a pitch P of the plurality of groove patterns is greater than a width in the second direction of each of the plurality of groove patterns. 15 . A display device comprising: a substrate for display; and at least one of a display panel and a touch panel disposed above the substrate for display, wherein the substrate includes first surface and the second surface opposite to the first surface to be folded based on a folding axis; a first area adjacent to the folding axis and a second area farther from the folding axis than the first area, wherein the first area is a region including the folding axis, and the second area is provided on both sides of the first region, wherein a first hole is formed in the first area to pass through the first surface and the second surface, wherein a second groove is formed in the second area to partially pass through the substrate from the first surface toward the second surface; wherein a depth of the second groove is less than a thickness of the substrate; and wherein the second groove is formed to extend in a column in a first direction corresponding to a direction in which the folding axis extends. 16 .
