1 . A battery comprising: a housing having a base, two side walls, and two end walls; a cell wall spanning between the first and second side walls defining two cells; a battery element provided within a cell, the battery element having a side and a bottom; and an element side gap, the element side gap being defined by a battery element side edge and an internal surface of the housing. 2 . The battery of claim 1 , further comprising an element bottom gap, the element bottom gap defined in a first and second dimension by a cell width and length, and a third dimension by a distance between the base and bottom of the battery element. 3 . The battery of claim 2 , wherein the element bottom gap extends along an entire bottom surface of the cell. 4 . The battery of claim 2 , further comprising a connecting strap, and the element bottom gap being formed at least in part by a relationship between the battery element and the connecting strap. 5 . The battery element of claim 4 , wherein the relationship between the battery element and the connecting strap includes the connecting strap being formed to hold the battery element above the bottom surface of the cell. 6 . The battery element of claim 4 , wherein the relationship between the battery element and the connecting strap includes the battery element being hung from the connecting strap by way of a cast on lug. 7 . The battery of claim 2 , wherein the element bottom gap being formed at least in part by a relationship between the battery element and the cell wall. 8 . The battery of claim 2 , wherein the element bottom gap being formed at least in part by a relationship between the battery element and the end walls. 9 . The battery of claim 2 , wherein the element bottom gap being formed at least in part by a variance in housing thickness. 10 . The battery of claim 1 , wherein the internal surface of the housing is curved. 11 . The battery of claim 1 , wherein a cutout is provided in the cell wall and a connecting strap is provided through the cutout, the cutout, connecting strap, and a cover defining a common headspace. 12 . The battery of claim 11 , wherein the cover further comprises two valve assemblies. 13 . The battery of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the two end walls is a reinforced end wall. 14 . The battery of claim 13 , wherein the end wall has a thickened portion and a recessed portion. 15 . A battery comprising: a housing having a base, two side walls, and two end walls defining a volume; a cell wall spanning between the first and second side walls defining two cells; a battery element provided within a cell, the battery element having a side and a bottom; and a cover enclosing the volume, the cover defining a common headspace comprising: an element side gap, the element side gap being defined by a battery element side edge and an internal surface of the housing; and an element bottom gap, the element bottom gap defined in a first and second dimension by a cell width and length, and a third dimension by a distance between the base and bottom of the battery element. 16 . The battery of claim 15 , wherein a cutout is provided in the cell wall and a connecting strap is provided through the cutout, and wherein the cutout, the connecting strap, and the cover further define the common headspace. 17 . The battery of claim 15 , wherein the cover further comprises two valve assemblies. 18 . The battery of claim 15 , wherein at least one of the two end walls is a reinforced end wall. 19 . The battery of claim 18 , wherein the end wall has a thickened portion and a recessed portion. 20 . The battery of claim 15 , wherein the element bottom gap being formed at least in part by a variance in housing thickness.
