In the present disclosure, the problem is solved by providing an electrode active material of which volume change due to charging and discharging is small. The electrode active material has a silicon-clathrate-II-type crystal phase. In the electrode active material, a five-membered ring size in the crystal phase is 3.752 Å or more and 3.780 Å or less.

What is claimed is: 1 . An electrode active material having a silicon-clathrate-II-type crystal phase, wherein a five-membered ring size in the crystal phase is 3.752 Å or more and 3.780 Å or less. 2 . The electrode active material according to claim 1 , wherein the electrode active material has a gap on an inside of a primary particle. 3 . An electrode mixture containing: an electrode active material according to claim 1 ; and at least one of a conductive material or a binder. 4 . A battery, comprising: a positive-electrode layer; a negative-electrode layer; and an electrolyte layer disposed between the positive-electrode layer and the negative-electrode layer, wherein the positive-electrode layer or the negative-electrode layer contains the electrode mixture according to claim 3 . 5 . The battery according to claim 4 , wherein the electrolyte layer contains a solid electrolyte.
