A saw blade includes an elongated body with a working edge extending along a longitudinal axis. A first strip composed of carbide or cermet and including at least one first full cutting tooth is coupled to a first portion of the working edge by a first weld fusion zone composed of a ductile material. The first strip is set in a first direction at a first angle out of a plane of the body by a first bend in the first weld fusion zone. A second strip composed of carbide or cermet and including at least one second full cutting tooth is coupled to a second portion of the working edge by a second weld fusion zone composed of a ductile material. The second strip is set in a second direction, opposite the first direction, at a second angle out of the plane of the body by a second bend in the second weld fusion zone.

What is claimed is: 1 . A saw blade, comprising: an elongated body that includes a working edge; and a plurality of inserts arranged along the working edge so as to be spaced apart from one another, wherein the inserts are made from a hard metal carbide or cermet material that is harder than a material of the elongated body, and wherein the inserts are each fastened to the working edge, and wherein each insert at least partially forms at least two saw teeth. 2 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein each insert at least partially forms at least two cutting surfaces and at least two relief surfaces of the at least two saw teeth. 3 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein each insert completely forms at least two cutting surfaces of the at least two saw teeth. 4 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the inserts are spaced by intermediate regions of the elongated body. 5 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the teeth are arranged with a pitch of at least 12 TPI. 6 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the saw teeth are arranged in a set pattern. 7 . The saw blade of claim 6 , wherein each insert is fastened to the body by a weld and the saw teeth are arranged in the set pattern by bends in the weld. 8 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the teeth define clearances formed by removal of material from the inserts. 9 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein each insert forms exactly two of the at least partial saw teeth. 10 . A method for producing a saw blade, comprising: forming a plurality of inserts so that each insert at least partially forms at least two saw teeth; fastening the plurality of inserts to an elongated body so that the inserts are arranged spaced from one another, wherein the inserts are made of a carbide or cermet material that has a greater hardness than a material of the elongated body. 11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising forming at least two at least partial cutting surfaces and at least two at least partial relief surfaces in the at least two saw teeth. 12 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising forming at least two complete cutting surfaces of the at least two saw teeth. 13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising arranging the teeth with a tooth pitch of at least 12 TPI. 14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein fastening the plurality of inserts comprises attaching the inserts to the body via a weld zone. 15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising arranging the saw teeth in a set pattern. 16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein fastening the plurality of inserts comprises attaching the inserts is fastened to the body via a weld, and further comprising arranging the saw teeth in a set pattern by bending the weld. 17 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising forming clearances in the saw teeth by removing material from the inserts. 18 . A saw blade comprising: an elongated body that includes a working edge; a first strip composed of carbide or cermet fastened to the working edge, the first strip including a base and at least partially forming at least two cutting teeth; and a second strip composed of carbide or cermet fastened to the working edge, the first strip including a base and at least partially forming at least two cutting teeth, wherein each strip is formed from a carbide or cermet material. 19 . The saw blade of claim 18 , wherein the first strip is coupled to a first portion of the working edge by a first weld, the at least two cutting teeth on the first strip are set in a first direction, the second strip is coupled to a second portion of the working edge by a second weld, and the at least two cutting teeth on the second strip are set in a second direction opposite the first direction. 20 . The saw blade of claim 18 , wherein a first clearance is formed in a first surface of each of the at least two cutting teeth on the first strip by removing material from the first strip and a second clearance is formed in a second surface of each of the at least two cutting teeth on the second strip by removing material from the second strip.
