A compound including the following Group 1, a partial structure that is an alkylene chain or a polyalkylene oxide chain, and the following Group 2: Group 1: —SiR13 Group 2: —Si(R2)nL3-n where each of pieces of R1 independently represents a hydrocarbon group or a trialkylsilyloxy group, each of pieces of R2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group, each of pieces of L independently represents a hydrolyzable group or a hydroxyl group, and n is an integer from 0 to 2.

1 . A compound comprising the following Group 1, a partial structure that is an alkylene chain having 3 or more carbon atoms or a polyalkylene oxide chain, and the following Group 2: Group 1: -M 1 R 1 3 Group 2: —Si(R 2 ) n L 3-n wherein, in Group 1 and Group 2, M 1 is Si, Sn, or Ge, each R 1 independently represents a hydrocarbon group or a trialkylsilyloxy group, each R 2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group, each L independently represents a hydrolyzable group or a hydroxyl group, and n is an integer from 0 to 2. 2 . The compound according to claim 1 , which is represented by the following Formula 1: [R 1 3 Si—(O) r —Z] p A(S(R 2 ) n L 3-n ) q (1) wherein, in Formula 1, each R 1 independently represents a hydrocarbon group or a trialkylsilyloxy group, r represents 0 or 1, each Z independently represents an alkylene chain or a polyalkylene oxide chain, or any combination of an alkylene chain and a divalent polysiloxane residue, A represents a single bond or a (p+q)-valent linking group, each R 2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group, each L independently represents a hydrolyzable group or a hydroxyl group, each n independently represents an integer from 0 to 2, and each of p and q independently represents an integer of 1 or more. 3 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein Z is an alkylene chain having 10 or more carbon atoms in Formula 1. 4 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein Z is a polyalkylene oxide chain having a repeat number of 3 or more in Formula 1. 5 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein each R 1 independently represents a trialkylsilyloxy group in Formula 1. 6 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein each R 1 independently represents a trimethylsilyloxy group or a triethylsilyloxy group in Formula 1. 7 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein p is from 2 to 4 in Formula 1. 8 . The compound according to claim 2 , wherein q is from 2 to 4 in Formula 1. 9 . A composition, comprising the compound according to claim 1 and a liquid medium. 10 . A surface treatment agent, comprising the compound according to claim 1 . 11 . A surface treatment agent, comprising the compound according to claim 1 and a liquid medium. 12 . A method of producing an article, the method comprising: subjecting a substrate to a surface treatment with the surface treatment agent according to claim 10 to produce an article having a surface treatment layer formed on the substrate. 13 . An article, comprising: a substrate; and a surface treatment layer disposed on the substrate and surface-treated with the surface treatment agent according to claim 10 . 14 . The article according to claim 13 , the article being an optical member. 15 . The article according to claim 13 , the article being a display or a touch panel. 16 . A compound, comprising the following Group 1, a partial structure that is an alkylene chain having 3 or more carbon atoms or a polyalkylene oxide chain, and the following Group 2: Group 1: -M 1 R 1 3 Group 2: —Si(R 2 ) n L 3-n wherein, in Group 1 and Group 2, M 1 is Si, Sn, or Ge, each R 1 independently represents a hydrocarbon group or a trialkylsilyloxy group, each R 2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group, each L independently represents a hydrolyzable group or a hydroxyl group, and n is an integer from 0 to 2.
