1 - 8 . (canceled) 9 . A method for operating a control device of a motor vehicle, the control device including a microcontroller, the method comprising: determining current requirements for the control device by way of the microcontroller; and adjusting a clock frequency of the microcontroller in dependence on the current requirements. 10 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises determining the current requirements continuously. 11 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises reducing the clock frequency only after a given period of time. 12 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises cyclically using a self-test as the current requirement. 13 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises adapting the current requirements depending on messages received via a bus system. 14 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises also changing an operating mode of a peripheral device in dependence on the current requirements. 15 . The method according to claim 9 , which comprises using a neural network to adjust the clock frequency depending on the current requirements. 16 . The method according to claim 9 , wherein the control device is a door control device of the motor vehicle, and the method comprises adapting the clock frequency of the door control device depending on current requirements. 17 . A control device of a motor vehicle, the control device comprising a microcontroller configured to operate in accordance with the method according to claim 9 . 18 . The control device according to claim 17 configured as a door control device of the motor vehicle.
