A bulk permanent magnet composition comprising the formula (Ce 1-x M 1 x ) 2.7-(v+w) M 2 v (Fe 14-y Co y ) 1-z M 3 z B, or alternatively, (Ce 1-x M 1 x ) 2-v M 2 v (Fe 14-y Co y ) 1-z M 3 z B, wherein: M 1 represents at least one lanthanide element other than Ce; M 2 represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Sn, Sb, Bi, Pb, Ca, Sr, and Zr; M 3 represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, W, Ta, and Hf; 0≤x<1; 0≤v≤1; 0≤y≤3; 0≤w≤0.8; and 0≤z≤1. Also described herein are methods for producing the permanent magnet.

What is claimed is: 1 . A bulk permanent magnet composition comprising the formula (Ce 1-x M 1 x ) 2.7-(v+w) M 2 v (Fe 14-y Co y ) 1-z M 3 z B, wherein: M 1 represents at least one lanthanide element other than Ce; M 2 represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Sn, Sb, Bi, Pb, Ca, Sr, and Zr; M 3 represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, W, Ta, and Hf; 0≤x<1; 0≤v≤1; 0≤y≤3; 0≤w≤0.8; and 0≤z≤1. 2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein 0<x<1. 3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein 0.1≤x<1. 4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein 0.1≤x≤0.8. 5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein 0<y≤3. 6 .
