What is claimed is: 1 . A display device comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area which is outside the display area; a transistor disposed in the display area on the substrate and including an active layer and a gate electrode; a light emitting element disposed in the display area on the substrate; a first organic insulating layer disposed in the non-display area on the substrate; a second organic insulating layer disposed in the non-display area on the substrate and spaced apart from the first organic insulating layer; and a groove which is defined in the non-display area and between the first organic insulating layer and the second organic insulating layer, the groove having an island shape in a plan view. 2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other in the plan view. 3 . The display device of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of groove patterns each has an island shape in the plan view. 4 . The display device of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of groove patterns are arranged along an extension direction of the first and second organic insulating layers. 5 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the groove is defined in the substrate. 6 . The display device of claim 5 , wherein the substrate includes a side surface and a bottom surface in the non-display area which define the groove, and a level of the bottom surface of the substrate is lower than a level of a top surface of a portion of the substrate that overlaps the active layer. 7 . The display device of claim 6 , further comprising: an inorganic layer disposed in the display area and the non-display area on the substrate, the inorganic layer covering the active layer on the substrate, wherein the inorganic layer covers the side surface and the bottom surface of the substrate at the groove. 8 . The display device of claim 6 , further comprising: an inorganic layer disposed in the display area and the non-display area on the substrate, the inorganic layer covering the active layer on the substrate, wherein the inorganic layer includes a side surface in the non-display area which defines a hole in the inorganic layer, the hole in the inorganic layer exposes the substrate to outside the inorganic layer, and the bottom surface of the substrate, the side surface of the substrate, and the side surface of the inorganic layer together define the groove. 9 . The display device of claim 1 , further comprising: an inorganic layer disposed in the display area and the non-display area on the substrate, the inorganic layer covering the active layer on the substrate, wherein the groove is defined in the inorganic layer. 10 . The display device of claim 9 , wherein the inorganic layer includes a side surface in the non-display area, the substrate is exposed to outside the inorganic layer at the groove, and the side surface of the inorganic layer and the substrate together define the groove. 11 . A display device comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area which is outside the display area; a transistor disposed in the display area on the substrate and including an active layer and a gate electrode; a light emitting element disposed in the display area on the substrate; a first dam disposed in the non-display area on the substrate, the first dam at least partially surrounding the display area in a plan view; a second dam disposed in the non-display area on the substrate and spaced apart from the first dam, the second dam at least partially surrounding the first dam in the plan view; and a groove which is defined in the non-display area and between the first dam and the second dam, the groove having an island shape in the plan view. 12 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein the groove includes a plurality of groove patterns spaced apart from each other in the plan view. 13 . The display device of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of groove patterns each has an island shape in the plan view. 14 . The display device of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of groove patterns are arranged along an extension direction of the first and second dams. 15 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein the groove is defined in the substrate. 16 . The display device of claim 15 , wherein the substrate includes a side surface and a bottom surface in the non-display area which define the groove, and a level of the bottom surface of the substrate is lower than a level of a top surface of a portion of the substrate that overlaps the active layer. 17 . The display device of claim 16 , further comprising: an inorganic layer disposed in the display area and the non-display area on the substrate, the inorganic layer covering the active layer on the substrate, wherein the inorganic layer covers the side surface and the bottom surface of the substrate at the groove. 18 . The display device of claim 16 , further comprising: an inorganic layer disposed in the display area and the non-display area on the substrate, the inorganic layer covering the active layer on the substrate, wherein the inorganic layer includes a side surface in the non-display area which defines a hole in the inorganic layer, the hole in the inorganic layer exposes the substrate to outside the inorganic layer, and the bottom surface of the substrate, the side surface of the substrate, and the side surface of the inorganic layer together define the groove. 19 .
