The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for monitoring a workout and for generating improved interfaces for the same. In one example, while receiving activity data for a workout session, a first user interface of a workout application is displayed. While displaying the first user interface of the workout application, user input of a first type is detected. In response to detecting the user input of the first type, a first control affordance to pause receiving the activity data for the workout session is displayed, and activity data for the workout session is continued to be received.

What is claimed is: 1 . A wearable electronic device that is configured to communicate with a display device and one or more input devices, the wearable electronic device comprising: one or more processors; memory; and one or more programs stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: detecting, via the one or more input devices, a request to display a first user interface of a workout application; in response to detecting the request to display the first user interface of the workout application, displaying, via the display device, the first user interface of the workout application, wherein the first user interface includes: a first selectable object that, when selected, initiates a workout of a first workout type, wherein the first selectable object is concurrently displayed with a representation of a workout metric of the first workout type; and a second selectable object that, when selected, initiates workout of a second workout type, different from the first workout type, wherein the second selectable object is displayed without a representation of a workout metric of the second workout type; while displaying the first user interface, detecting, via the one or more input devices, a respective input; and in response to detecting the respective input: in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the first selectable object, initiating a workout of the first workout type; and in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the second selectable object, initiating a workout of the second workout type. 2 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the representation of the workout metric includes a representation of a metric that is monitored during a workout of the first workout type. 3 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein a workout of the first workout type is initiated, the one or more programs further including instructions for: during the workout of the first workout type: at a first time, displaying, via the display device, a first value for the workout metric; and at a second time that is different from the first time, displaying, via the display device, a second value for the workout metric, wherein the second value for the workout metric is different from the first value. 4 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein initiating the workout of the first workout type includes starting to monitor the workout metric of the first workout type. 5 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein initiating the workout of the first workout type includes displaying, via the display device, a second user interface configured to modify a value of the workout metric without starting to monitor the workout metric of the first workout type. 6 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first selectable object has a respective orientation relative to the second selectable object in the first user interface, including: in accordance with a determination that a workout of the first workout type is a most recently performed workout, the first selectable object has a first orientation relative to the second selectable object; and in accordance with a determination that a workout of the second workout type is the most recently performed workout, the first selectable object has a second orientation relative to the second selectable object, wherein the second orientation is different from the first orientation. 7 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the workout metric is displayed with a value for the workout metric from a most recent, previous workout of the first workout type. 8 . The wearable electronic device of claim 1 , wherein displaying the first user interface of the workout application includes concurrently displaying the first selectable object with the second selectable object. 9 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of a wearable electronic device with a display device and one or more input devices, the one or more programs including instructions for: detecting, via the one or more input devices, a request to display a first user interface of a workout application; in response to detecting the request to display the first user interface of the workout application, displaying, via the display device, the first user interface of the workout application, wherein the first user interface includes: a first selectable object that, when selected, initiates a workout of a first workout type, wherein the first selectable object is concurrently displayed with a representation of a workout metric of the first workout type; and a second selectable object that, when selected, initiates workout of a second workout type, different from the first workout type, wherein the second selectable object is displayed without a representation of a workout metric of the second workout type; while displaying the first user interface, detecting, via the one or more input devices, a respective input; and in response to detecting the respective input: in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the first selectable object, initiating a workout of the first workout type; and in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the second selectable object, initiating a workout of the second workout type. 10 . A method, comprising: at a wearable electronic device including display device and one or more input devices: detecting, via the one or more input devices, a request to display a first user interface of a workout application; in response to detecting the request to display the first user interface of the workout application, displaying, via the display device, the first user interface of the workout application, wherein the first user interface includes: a first selectable object that, when selected, initiates a workout of a first workout type, wherein the first selectable object is concurrently displayed with a representation of a workout metric of the first workout type; and a second selectable object that, when selected, initiates workout of a second workout type, different from the first workout type, wherein the second selectable object is displayed without a representation of a workout metric of the second workout type; while displaying the first user interface, detecting, via the one or more input devices, a respective input; and in response to detecting the respective input: in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the first selectable object, initiating a workout of the first workout type; and in accordance with a determination that the respective input is directed to the second selectable object, initiating a workout of the second workout type.
