A separation assembly comprises a housing and a plate. The housing comprises an inlet and an outlet. The plate is positioned within the housing between the inlet and the outlet. The plate comprises a wall, at least one aperture, and at least one chimney comprising an inner surface surrounding the at least one aperture and an outer surface. The chimney extends from an upstream side of the wall and encompasses only a portion of a flow path between the inlet and the upstream side of the wall such that fluid can flow radially beyond the outer surface of the at least one chimney in the housing between the inlet and the wall.

The separation assembly of claim 20 , wherein the nozzle plate comprises a wall, at least one nozzle, and at least one chimney surrounding the at least one nozzle and extending from an upstream side of the wall. 22 . A separation assembly comprising: a housing comprising an inlet and an outlet; and an impaction assembly comprising a nozzle plate, a filter media, and a media holder, the impaction assembly positioned within the housing between the inlet and the outlet, the nozzle plate comprising at least one media spacer that spaces the filter media out from the nozzle plate, neither the nozzle plate nor the media holder penetrating into the filter media. 23 . A separation assembly comprising: an impaction assembly comprising a nozzle plate, a filter media, and a media holder, the impaction assembly positionable between an inlet and an outlet, the nozzle plate comprising at least one media spacer, and the media holder comprising at least one media support such that the filter media is positioned between the nozzle plate and the media holder and neither the nozzle plate nor the media holder penetrates into the filter media. 25 . The separation assembly of claim 24 , wherein the nozzle plate comprises a wall, at least one nozzle, and at least one chimney surrounding the at least one nozzle and extending from an upstream side of the wall. 26 . The separation assembly of claim 28 , wherein both an inner portion of the wall that is radially encompassed by the chimney and an outer portion of an upstream side of the wall are upstream of the plurality of apertures, the nozzle plate directing fluid onto a filter media. 27 . The separation assembly of claim 26 , wherein the each of the plurality of apertures is part of at least one nozzle, and wherein the chimney surrounds each nozzle. 28 . A separation assembly comprising: a housing comprising an inlet and an outlet; a nozzle plate positioned within the housing between the inlet and the outlet, the nozzle plate comprising a wall, a plurality of apertures, and a chimney comprising an inner surface surrounding the plurality of apertures and an outer surface, each of the plurality of apertures being part of at least one nozzle, the chimney extending from an upstream side of the wall and encompassing only a portion of a flow path between the inlet and the upstream side of the wall such that fluid flows radially beyond the outer surface of the chimney in the housing between the inlet and the wall; and an impaction assembly that comprises the nozzle plate, a media holder operatively attached to the nozzle plate, and a filter media positioned between the nozzle plate and the media holder, wherein the nozzle plate comprises at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature and the media holder comprises at least one media holder interlocking feature, wherein the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature and the at least one media holder interlocking feature are interlockable with each other in order to attach the nozzle plate and the media holder together. 29 . The separation assembly of claim 28 , wherein the media holder comprises a plurality of media holder interlocking features, and wherein the filter media is configured to fit within an area defined by the plurality of media holder interlocking features. 30 . The separation assembly of claim 28 , wherein the nozzle plate comprises a gusset that extends from an outer surface of the chimney and the upstream side of the wall. 31 . The separation assembly of claim 20 , wherein the nozzle plate comprises a wall, a first nozzle, a second nozzle, a first chimney surrounding the first nozzle and extending from an upstream side of the wall, and a second chimney surrounding the second nozzle and extending form the upstream side of the wall. 32 . The separation assembly of claim 20 , wherein the nozzle plate comprises a nozzle plate wall and at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature that extends from a downstream side of the nozzle plate wall. 33 . The separation assembly of claim 32 , wherein the at least one media spacer is encompassed by the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature such that the at least one media spacer is positioned within an area defined by the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature. 34 . The separation assembly of claim 32 , wherein the media holder comprises a media holder wall and at least one media holder interlocking feature, and wherein the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature and the at least one media holder interlocking feature are configured to space the nozzle plate and the media holder away from each other such that the filter media is positioned between the nozzle plate and the media holder. 35 . The separation assembly of claim 34 , wherein the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature is a circular post and the at least one media holder interlocking feature is a circular hole having a predefined depth, the at least one media holder interlocking feature configured to receive an end of the at least one nozzle plate interlocking feature. 36 . The separation assembly of claim 34 , wherein the at least one media holder interlocking feature protrudes outwardly from a downstream side of the media holder wall. 37 . The separation assembly of claim 35 , wherein the at least one media holder interlocking feature protrudes outwardly from a downstream side of the media holder wall.
