Provided is a resin containing a polybutylene succinate sebacate, characterized in that a content of an alkali metal is 0.001 mass ppm or more and 6.0 mass ppm or less. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a polyester resin, a resin composition and a shaped object which achieve both biodegradability in seawater and hydrolysis resistance, which are contradictory properties, at high level.
