A primary battery includes: a positive electrode containing 2,5-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone; a negative electrode containing magnesium or aluminum; and an aqueous electrolytic solution disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode.

A primary battery comprising: a positive electrode containing 2,5-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone; a negative electrode containing magnesium or aluminum; and an aqueous electrolytic solution disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. 2 . The primary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the positive electrode and the negative electrode are each formed on a sheet-like current collector containing at least one selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, and carbon. 3 . The primary battery according to claim 1 , having a bipolar stack structure. 4 . The primary battery according to claim 2 , having a bipolar stack structure.
