The method of claim 10 , wherein the cancer is a BRAF mutant cancer. 13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the BRAF mutant cancer is V600E mutated BRAF cancer. 14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the BRAF mutant cancer is V600K mutated BRAF cancer. 15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the compound is a compound of formula (Ia): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 16 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the compound is a compound of formula (Ib): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 17 . A process for the preparation of a compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, the process comprising reacting a compound of formula (B1): with a compound of formula (B2): in the presence of a base. 18 . The process of claim 17 , wherein the base is cesium carbonate.
