Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A retrieval device attachable to a scope includes a handle which has an attachment portion configured to couple the handle to the scope; a shaft coupled to the handle having a wire immovably coupled to the handle; and a sheath movable relative to the handle over the wire between a distal position and a proximal position via an actuator of the handle. The actuator actuates a slider assembly of the handle. The slider assembly is coupled to the sheath and movable relative to the attachment portion to move the sheath and an expandable end effector coupled to the distal end of the wire. The end effector is movable between a collapsed configuration when the sheath is moved distally to the distal position to cover the end effector and an expanded configuration when the sheath is moved proximally to the proximal position, uncovering the end effector.

1 - 35 . (canceled) 36 . A retrieval device comprising: a handle comprising: a slider movable relative to a body of the handle in a proximal direction and a distal direction; and an actuator configured to move the slider in the proximal direction and the distal direction; a sheath coupled to the slider; a drive wire received within the sheath and including an end effector at a distal end of the drive wire, wherein the sheath is movable relative to the drive wire and the end effector in the proximal direction and the distal direction; and a guide member movably coupled to the handle, wherein the actuator is further configured to move the handle relative to the guide member. 37 . The retrieval device of claim 36 , wherein the guide member is configured to couple the handle to a scope device. 38 . The retrieval device of claim 36 , wherein the handle is rotatable relative to the guide member. 39 . The retrieval device of claim 36 , wherein the guide member includes a pin positioned within an arced slot of the handle, and wherein the pin is movable within the arced slot. 40 . The retrieval device of claim 39 , wherein the pin is on a curved portion of the guide member. 41 . The retrieval device of claim 39 , wherein the guide member further includes a ledge, and wherein the actuator is configured to contact the ledge. 42 . The retrieval device of claim 41 , wherein the actuator includes a lever and a pin configured to abut the ledge. 43 . The retrieval device of claim 36 , wherein the actuator includes a lever, and wherein the lever is coupled to the slider via an arm. 44 . The retrieval device of claim 38 , wherein the handle is further movable in a linear direction relative to the guide member. 45 . The retrieval device of claim 44 , wherein the handle includes a pin that is received within a slot of the guide member. 46 . A retrieval device comprising: a handle comprising: a slider movable in a proximal direction and a distal direction; and a lever configured to move the slider; a sheath coupled to the slider; and a drive wire including an end effector at a distal end of the drive wire, wherein the drive wire and the end effector are received within the sheath, and wherein the sheath is movable relative to the drive wire and the end effector; wherein the handle is configured to couple to a scope device via a guide member, the lever being further configured to move the handle relative to the guide member. 47 . The retrieval device of claim 46 , further comprising the guide member, wherein the handle is rotatable relative to the guide member. 48 . The retrieval device of claim 47 , wherein the guide member includes a pin movable within an arced slot of the handle. 49 . The retrieval device of claim 47 , wherein the guide member includes a ledge, and wherein the handle includes a pin configured to abut the ledge. 50 . The retrieval device of claim 47 , wherein the handle is movable in a linear direction relative to the guide member. 51 . The retrieval device of claim 46 , wherein the lever is a first actuator of the handle, and the handle further includes a second actuator configured to move the sheath relative to the drive wire and the end effector independent of the slider. 52 . A retrieval device comprising: a handle comprising: a slider movable in a proximal direction and a distal direction; and an actuator configured to move the slider; a sheath coupled to the slider; a drive wire received within the sheath and including an end effector at a distal end of the drive wire, wherein the sheath is movable relative to the drive wire and the end effector in the proximal direction and the distal direction; and a guide member configured to couple the handle to a scope device, wherein the handle is rotatable relative to the guide member. 53 . The retrieval device of claim 52 , wherein the handle is further movable in a linear direction relative to the guide member. 54 . The retrieval device of claim 53 , wherein the guide member includes a pin on a curved portion of the guide member and movable within an arced slot of the handle, and wherein the handle includes a pin movable within a slot of the guide member. 55 . The retrieval device of claim 52 , wherein the guide member includes a ledge, and wherein the actuator is configured rotate relative to the guide member to contact the ledge.
