Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems and methods are described herein for detecting information that indicates that a user will be traveling from a first geographic location to a second geographic location, and responsively accessing a playlist indicated by a profile of the user that indicates a plurality of streaming media that the user intends to consume. Control circuitry may then compare data corresponding to each streaming media of the plurality of streaming media to a database to determine whether each streaming media of the plurality of streaming media is accessible to the user at the second geographic location, and may determine that a subset of the plurality of media is not accessible to the user at the second geographic location. In response to determining that the subset is not accessible to the user at the second geographic location, the control circuitry may download each media of the subset.

1 - 51 . (canceled) 52 . A method comprising: determining using processing circuitry, based on a message transmitted or received at an account associated with a user, planned movement of the user to a destination outside a first geographic region; identifying a plurality of content items that are likely to be consumed at the destination during the planned movement of the user; in response to determining that a first content item of the plurality of content items is accessible to a device associated with the user at the destination, refraining from storing the first content item to the device associated with the user prior to the planned movement of the user; in response to determining that a second content item of the plurality of content items is under a first level of restriction at the destination but not under a second level of restriction at the destination, storing the second content item to the device associated with the user prior to the planned movement of the user; and in response to determining that a third content item of the plurality of content items is under both the first level of restriction at the destination and the second level of restriction at the destination, refraining from storing the third content item to the device prior to the planned movement of the user. 53 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the determining based on the message transmitted or received comprises: parsing electronic communications from a third-party platform indicative that the user will be traveling to the destination. 54 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the message transmitted or received comprises an indication that the second content item is not accessible to the user at the destination from a content provider. 55 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the determining that the second content item is under the first level of restriction at the destination comprises comparing the second content item to content in a database indicating geographic content restrictions for a content provider. 56 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the first level of restriction indicates content items unavailable to be streamed at the destination, and wherein the second level of restriction indicates content items deemed illegal at the destination. 57 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the storing of the second content item comprises downloading in the first geographic region, from a content provider, the second content item to the device associated with the user. 58 . The method of claim 52 , further comprising: enabling play by the device, at the destination, of the second content item. 59 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the device is one of a plurality of devices associated with the user, and the method further comprises: selecting the device among a plurality of devices associated with the user based on a historical record of travel for the device. 60 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the device is one of a plurality of devices associated with the user, and the method further comprises: selecting the device among a plurality of devices associated with the user based on a storage capacity of the device. 61 . The method of claim 52 , wherein the identifying the plurality of content items comprises: determining that a cost of the second content item is lower in the first geographic region than the cost of the second content item at the destination. 62 . A system comprising: a memory of a device; and control circuitry configured: to determine, based on a message transmitted or received at an account associated with a user, planned movement of the user to a destination outside a first geographic region; to identify a plurality of content items that are likely to be consumed at the destination during the planned movement of the user; in response to determining that a first content item of the plurality of content items is accessible to a device associated with the user at the destination, to refrain from causing to store the first content item to the device associated with the user prior to the planned movement of the user; in response to determining that a second content item of the plurality of content items is under a first level of restriction at the destination but not under a second level of restriction at the destination, to cause to store, in the memory of the device, the second content item associated with the user prior to the planned movement of the user; and in response to determining that a third content item of the plurality of content items is under both the first level of restriction at the destination and the second level of restriction at the destination, to refrain from storing the third content item to the memory of the device prior to the planned movement of the user. 63 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the determining based on the message transmitted or received comprises: parsing electronic communications from a third-party platform indicative that the user will be traveling to the destination. 64 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the message transmitted or received comprises an indication that the second content item is not accessible to the user at the destination from a content provider. 65 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the determining that the second content item is under the first level of restriction at the destination comprises comparing the second content item to content in a database indicating geographic content restrictions for a content provider. 66 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the first level of restriction indicates content items unavailable to be streamed at the destination, and wherein the second level of restriction indicates content items deemed illegal at the destination. 67 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the storing of the second content item comprises downloading in the first geographic region, from a content provider, the second content item to the device associated with the user. 68 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured: to enable play by the device, at the destination, of the second content item. 69 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the device is one of a plurality of devices associated with the user, and wherein the processing circuitry is further configured: to select the device among a plurality of devices associated with the user based on a historical record of travel for the device. 70 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the device is one of a plurality of devices associated with the user, and wherein the processing circuitry is further configured: to select the device among a plurality of devices associated with the user based on a storage capacity of the device. 71 . The system of claim 62 , wherein the identifying the plurality of content items comprises determining that a cost of the second content item is lower in the first geographic region than the cost of the second content item at the destination.
