Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

According to one embodiment, provided is a secondary battery including a negative electrode, a positive electrode, a first composite layer joined to the negative electrode, a second composite layer joined to the positive electrode, and an aqueous electrolyte. The first composite layer includes a first principal surface on a reverse side with respect to a surface joined to the negative electrode. The second composite layer includes a second principal surface on a reverse side with respect to a surface joined to the positive electrode and facing the first principal surface. Each of the first composite layer and the second composite layer contains inorganic solid particles and a polymeric material. A peel strength σ s between the first principal surface and second principal surface is 0.1 N/mm or less. The aqueous electrolyte includes water.

What is claimed is: 1 . A secondary battery comprising: a negative electrode; a positive electrode; a first composite layer joined to the negative electrode, the first composite layer comprising a first principal surface on a reverse side with respect to a surface joined to the negative electrode, and containing inorganic solid particles and a polymeric material; a second composite layer joined to the positive electrode, the second composite layer comprising a second principal surface on a reverse side with respect to a surface joined to the positive electrode and facing the first principal surface, and containing inorganic solid particles and a polymeric material; and an aqueous electrolyte comprising water, a peel strength σ s between the first principal surface and the second principal surface being 0.1 N/mm or less. 2 . The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the first composite layer has a thickness t n of 50 µm or less, and the second composite layer has a thickness t p of 50 µm or less. 3 . The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the first composite layer and the second composite layer each have a porosity of 20% or less. 4 . The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein a peel strength σ n between the negative electrode and the first composite layer is greater than 0.3 N/mm, and a peel strength σ p between the positive electrode and the second composite layer is greater than 0.3 N/mm. 5 . The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material, the negative electrode active material comprising a compound having a lithium ion insertion-extraction potential of 1 V to 3 V (vs. Li/Li + ) with respect to the oxidation-reduction potential of lithium. 6 . The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the aqueous electrolyte has a pH of 9 or more. 7 . A battery pack comprising the secondary battery according to claim 1 . 8 . The battery pack according to claim 7 , further comprising: an external power distribution terminal; and a protective circuit. 9 . The battery pack according to claim 7 , comprising plural of the secondary battery, the plural secondary batteries being electrically connected in series, in parallel, or in combination of in series and in parallel. 10 . A vehicle comprising the battery pack according to claim 7 . 11 . The vehicle according to claim 10 , which comprises a mechanism configured to convert kinetic energy of the vehicle into regenerative energy. 12 . A stationary power supply comprising the battery pack according to claim 7 .
