The present invention relates to a positive electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery includes a current collector; a first active material layer disposed on the current collector and including a first active material and a melamine-based compound; and a second active material layer disposed on the first active material layer and including a second active material, wherein the first active material and the second active material are different from each other, and the first active material includes at least one of the compounds represented by Chemical Formulas 1 to 4. (The definitions of Chemical Formulas 1 to 4 are the same as described in the specification.)

A positive electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery, comprising a current collector; a first active material layer disposed on the current collector and including a first active material and a melamine-based compound; and a second active material layer disposed on the first active material layer and including a second active material, wherein the first active material and the second active material are different from each other, the first active material includes at least one of the compounds represented by Chemical Formula 1 to Chemical Formula 4: Li a1 M 1 x1 Fe (1-x1) PO 4   [Chemical Formula 1] wherein, in Chemical Formula 1, 0.90≤a1≤1.5, 0≤x1≤0.7, and M 1 is Mg, Co, Ni, or a combination thereof, Li a2 Mn x2 Fe (1-x2) PO 4   [Chemical Formula 2] wherein, in Chemical Formula 2, 0.90≤a2≤1.5 and 0.1≤x2≤0.9, Li a3 Mn (2-x3) M 3 x3 O 4   [Chemical Formula 3] wherein, in Chemical Formula 3, 0.90≤a3≤1.5, 0≤x3≤0.4, and M 3 is Al, Cr, Mg, La, Ce, Sr, V, or a combination thereof, Li a4 Mn (1-x4) M 4 x4 PO 4   [Chemical Formula 4] wherein, in Chemical Formula 4, 0.90≤a4≤1.5, 0≤x4≤0.5, and M 4 is Al, Cr, Mg, La, Ce, Sr, V, or a combination thereof. 2 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the melamine-based compound is included in an amount of 0.2 wt % to 15 wt % based on 100% by weight of the first active material layer. 3 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the melamine-based compound is melamine, a melamine derivative, or a combination thereof, the melamine derivative includes a melamine organic acid salt, a melamine inorganic acid salt, or a combination thereof. 4 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein an average particle diameter of the first active material is 10 nm to 2 μm. 5 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the first active material is included in an amount of 70 wt % to 99.8 wt %, based on 100 wt % of the first active material layer. 6 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the first active material layer further includes a conductive material. 7 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 6 , wherein the conductive material includes natural graphite, artificial graphite, carbon black, acetylene black, denka black, ketjen black, a carbon nanotube, an L-carbon nanotube, a carbon fiber, or a combination thereof. 8 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 6 , wherein the conductive material is included in an amount of 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % based on 100 wt % of the first active material layer. 9 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the first active material layer further includes a binder. 10 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 9 , wherein the binder includes polyvinylchloride, carboxylated polyvinylchloride, polyvinylfluoride, polyvinylidene fluoride, polyethylene oxide, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, a styrene butadiene rubber, an acrylated styrene butadiene rubber, an acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, carboxylmethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, diacetyl cellulose, polyimide, polyamideimide, or a combination thereof. 11 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 9 , wherein the binder is included in an amount of 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % based on 100 wt % of the first active material layer. 12 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the first active material layer is 2 μm to 10 μm. 13 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the second active material layer is 11 μm to 100 μm. 14 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the second active material includes a compound represented by Chemical Formula 11: Li a11 M 11 1-y11-z11 M 12 y11 M 13 z11 O 2   [Chemical Formula 11] wherein, in Chemical Formula 11, 0.9≤a11≤1.8, 0≤y11≤1, 0≤z11<1, 0≤y11+z11<1, and M 11 , M 12 , and M 13 are each independently Ni, Co, Mn, Al, Mg, Ti or a combination thereof. 15 . The positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein an average particle diameter of the first active material is 3 μm to 30 μm. 16 . A rechargeable lithium battery, comprising the positive electrode for the rechargeable lithium battery of claim 1 , a negative electrode and an electrolyte.
