Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An athletic parameter measurement device worn by an athlete during an athletic activity session includes a housing which attaches to the athlete, a display, a processor associated with the display, and an athletic parameter measurement sensor. During the athletic activity, the device detects, using the sensor, a vertical jump height of the athlete, and displays, during the performance of the athletic activity session, a representation of the vertical jump height on the display.

We claim: 1 . A method comprising: receiving, by an athletic parameter analysis device, video data associated with an athlete during an athletic activity; determining, by the athletic parameter analysis device and using the video data, at least one performance metric of the athlete; and based on detecting an event in the video data, presenting a display indicating the at least one performance metric, wherein the at least one performance metric is an overlaid graphic that is displayed in a toolbar of a primary visualization area. 2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by an athletic parameter measurement device worn on the athlete, activity data associated with the athletic activity, wherein determining the at least one performance metric of the athlete includes processing and synchronizing the activity data with the video data. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes playing video data of the athlete during the athletic activity in the primary visualization area. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes presenting an indication relating to at least one earlier athletic activity performed by the athlete. 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes presenting an indication relating to at least one other athlete performing an athletic activity. 6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: associating an identification of the athlete with the athletic parameter analysis device; and transmitting, to a computing device, the at least one performance metric and the identification. 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the overlaid graphic is animated during playback of the video data. 8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes displaying a portion providing metrics of the athlete performing the athletic activity and a portion with coaching information for the athlete related to the athletic activity. 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the at least one performance metric of the athlete includes processing and synchronizing video data from a plurality of video sources and calculating the at least one performance metric based on analyzing the processed and synchronized video data. 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes overlaying one or more indicators in the primary visualization area to identify an aspect of the at least one performance metric for improvement and coaching information for the at least one performance metric for improvement. 11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein presenting the display includes providing a user selectable metric widget that is configured to change a displayed type of performance metric in response to a user selection. 12 . An athletic parameter analysis device comprising: a processor; and at least one measurement sensor, memory storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the athletic parameter analysis device to: receive video data associated with an athlete during an athletic activity; process the video data; determine, using the processed video data, at least one performance metric of the athlete; and trigger a display indicating the at least one metric, wherein the at least one metric is an overlaid graphic that is displayed during playback of the video data. 13 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , wherein determining the at least one performance metric of the athlete includes processing and synchronizing video data from a plurality of video sources and calculating the at least one performance metric based on analyzing the processed and synchronized video data. 14 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , wherein presenting the display includes playing video data of the athlete during the athletic activity in a primary visualization area of the display. 15 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , wherein presenting the display includes presenting an indication relating to at least one earlier athletic activity performed by the athlete. 16 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the athletic parameter analysis device to: receiving, by an athletic parameter measurement device worn on the athlete, activity data associated with the athletic activity, wherein determining the at least one performance metric of the athlete includes processing and synchronizing the activity data with the video data. 17 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , presenting the display includes presenting an indication relating to at least one other athlete performing an athletic activity. 18 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the athletic parameter analysis device to transmit the at least one performance metric and the identification to a computing device in real-time. 19 . The athletic parameter analysis device of claim 12 , wherein the overlaid graphic is animated during playback of the video data. 20 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions that, when executed cause: receiving video data associated with an athlete during an athletic activity, wherein the video data is received from a plurality of video sources; determining, using the video data, at least one performance metric of the athlete; and based on detecting an event in the video data, triggering a display indicating the at least one performance metric, wherein the at least one performance metric is an overlaid graphic that is displayed during playback of the video data.
