Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Various aspects of the disclosure relate to event triggers for independent links. For example, an event trigger may be based on measurements from multiple links. In some aspects, the independent links may involve a first device (e.g., a user equipment) communicating via different independent links with different devices (e.g., transmit receive points (TRPs) or sets of TRPs). For example, the first device may communicate with a second device (e.g., a TRP) via a first link and communicate with a third device (e.g., a TRP) via a second link. In some scenarios, an event trigger may be based on aggregated measurements from multiple links.

What is claimed is: 1 . A user equipment for communication, comprising: a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor and the memory are configured to: obtain first reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a first beam of a first beamformed wireless communication link with a first transmit receive point; obtain second reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a second beam of a second beamformed wireless communication link with a second transmit receive point; determine whether a threshold has been satisfied using both the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point and the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point; and generate an event trigger based on a determination that the threshold has been satisfied that used both the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point and the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point. 2 . The user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point is carried on a first carrier frequency; and wherein the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point is carried on the first carrier frequency on which the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point is also carried. 3 . The user equipment of claim 1 , wherein the event trigger is to trigger an event, and wherein the event comprises a handoff. 4 . A user equipment for communication, comprising: a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor and the memory are configured to: obtain first reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a first beam of a first beamformed wireless communication link with a first transmit receive point; obtain second reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a second beam of a second beamformed wireless communication link with a second transmit receive point; determine whether a first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point; generate a first event trigger based on a determination that the first threshold has been satisfied that used the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point; determine whether a second threshold has been satisfied using the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point; and generate a second event trigger based on a determination that the second threshold has been satisfied that used the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point. 5 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point is carried on a first carrier frequency; and wherein the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point is carried on the first carrier frequency on which the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point is also carried. 6 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein to determine whether the first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point, the processor and the memory are configured to: determine whether the first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point independently of the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point. 7 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein to determine whether the second threshold has been satisfied using the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point, the processor and the memory are configured to: determine whether the second threshold has been satisfied using the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point independently of the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point. 8 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein to determine whether the first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point, the processor and the memory are configured to: determine whether the first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point and based at least in part on the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point. 9 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein to determine whether the second threshold has been satisfied using the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point, the processor and the memory are configured to: determine whether the second threshold has been satisfied using the second RSRP measurement information for the second beam of the second beamformed wireless communication link with the second transmit receive point and based at least in part on the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communication link with the first transmit receive point. 10 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein the first event trigger is to trigger a first event, and wherein the first event comprises a first handoff; and wherein the second event trigger is to trigger a second event, and wherein the second event comprises a second handoff. 11 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein the first threshold and the second threshold are different. 12 . The user equipment of claim 4 , wherein the first threshold and the second threshold are the same. 13 . A method of communication for a user equipment, comprising: obtaining first reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a first beam of a first beamformed wireless communication link with a first transmit receive point; obtaining second reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement information for a second beam of a second beamformed wireless communication link with a second transmit receive point; determining whether a first threshold has been satisfied using the first RSRP measurement information for the first beam of the first beamformed wireless communic
