Abstract

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer readable instructions that are executable by a computer in an information processing apparatus is provided. The information processing apparatus has a display interface, an operation interface, and a communication interface, and is connected with a printer through the communication interface. The computer readable instructions, when executed by the computer, causing the computer to control the display interface to display a setting screen to accept entry of print settings applicable to the printer, including a first special setting which is feasible to a first channel but infeasible to a second channel, and in response to a specific operation related to the first special setting to the setting screen through the operation interface, determine the first channel to be a processing channel to be used to cause the printer to print the image.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer readable instructions that are executable by a computer in an information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus comprising a display interface, an operation interface, and a communication interface through which the information processing apparatus is communicable with a printer, the information processing apparatus comprising a first channel configured to process image data for commanding the printer to print an image through a specialized printing program and a second channel configured to process the image data for commanding the printer to print the image through a basic printing function provided by an operating system of the information processing apparatus without using the specialized printing program, the computer readable instructions, when executed by the computer, causing the computer to:
control the display interface to display a first setting screen configured to accept entry of a first print setting feasible to the first channel but infeasible to the second channel; control the display interface to display a second setting screen configured to accept entry of a second print setting feasible at least to the second channel; in a case where the first print setting is entered through the first setting screen, process the image data with the first print setting through the first channel; and in a case where a print commanding operation is entered through the second setting screen without entry of the first print setting through the first setting screen, process the image data through the second channel.

2 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 1 ,
wherein the computer readable instructions, when executed by the computer, further cause the computer to control the display interface to display an object linked to the first setting screen, the first setting screen being configured to be displayed in response to an operation to the object.

3 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 2 ,
wherein the second setting screen includes options for a print setting feasible to both the first channel and the second channel, and wherein the second setting screen includes the object.

4 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 3 ,
wherein the second setting screen further includes options for a print setting feasible to the second channel alone.

5 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 2 ,
wherein the first setting screen includes options for the first print setting, and wherein in a case where an operation to select not changing the options for the first print setting is entered through the first print setting, the computer readable instructions, when executed by the computer, further cause the computer to determine that the operation to the object is canceled.

6 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 1 ,
wherein the first channel is a channel, through which the image data is rasterized by instructions of the specialized printing program.

7 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium according to claim 1 ,
wherein the first setting screen includes options for printing quality settings.

8 . An information processing apparatus, comprising:
a display interface; an operation interface; a communication interface, through which the information processing apparatus is communicable with a printer; a plurality of processing channels including a first channel configured to process image data for commanding the printer to print an image through a specialized printing program and a second channel configured to process the image data for commanding the printer to print the image through a basic printing function provided by an operating system of the information processing apparatus without using the specialized printing program; and a controller configured to:
control the display interface to display a first setting screen configured to accept entry of a first print setting feasible to the first channel but infeasible to the second channel;
control the display interface to display a second setting screen configured to accept entry of a second print setting feasible at least to the second channel;
in a case where the first print setting is entered through the first setting screen, process the image data with the first print setting through the first channel; and
in a case where a print commanding operation is entered through the second setting screen without entry of the first print setting through the first setting screen, process the image data through the second channel.

A method for controlling an information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus comprising a display interface, an operation interface, and a communication interface through which the information processing apparatus is communicable with a printer, the information processing apparatus comprising a first channel configured to process image data for commanding the printer to print an image through a specialized printing program and a second channel configured to process the image data for commanding the printer to print the image through a basic printing function provided by an operating system of the information processing apparatus without using the specialized printing program, the method comprising:
controlling the display interface to display a first setting screen configured to accept entry of a first print setting feasible to the first channel but infeasible to the second channel; controlling the display interface to display a second setting screen configured to accept entry of a second print setting feasible at least to the second channel; in a case where the first print setting is entered through the first setting screen, processing the image data with the first print setting through the first channel; and in a case where a print commanding operation is entered through the second setting screen without entry of the first print setting through the first setting screen, processing the image data through the second channel.
