A method for producing a polytetrafluoroethylene powder, comprising: applying an ultrasonic wave to a polytetrafluoroethylene aqueous dispersion containing a polytetrafluoroethylene particle to coagulate the polytetrafluoroethylene particle. 2 . The production method according to claim 1 , wherein the polytetrafluoroethylene aqueous dispersion is obtained by polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene in an aqueous medium in the presence of a hydrocarbon surfactant.
