Abstract

The disclosed systems facilitate collection and management of personal data management documentation requirements and associated data. A master questionnaire is used to solicit information regarding documentation requirements for several contexts in a single interaction and responsive data can be mapped to questionnaires and/or datasets for particular contexts, such as jurisdictions and business sectors. The system can generate graphical user interfaces for presenting the documentation requirement data for a particular context by generating an interface with navigational elements for various contexts, detecting browser state data indicating user manipulation of one or more such elements, and generating a subsequent graphical user interface based on the browser context data. The system configures the subsequent interface to present the requested information in display elements and instructs the browser presenting the subsequent interface to retrieve the requested information using an ontology mapping the requested information to a master dataset.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1 . A method comprising:
generating, by computing hardware, a first graphical user interface for a browser application executed on a user device by configuring a first navigation element and a second navigation element on the first graphical user interface, wherein:
the first navigation element is configured for navigating to a first display element that presents a first dataset comprising first personal data management documentation requirements associated with a first jurisdiction, and
the second navigation element is configured for navigating to a second display element that presents a second dataset comprising second personal data management documentation requirements associated with a second jurisdiction;
transmitting, by the computing hardware, a first instruction to the browser application causing the browser application to present the first graphical user interface on the user device; detecting, by the computing hardware, a state of the browser application comprising an indication of a selection of the first navigation element; responsive to detecting the state of the browser application, generating, by the computing hardware, a second graphical user interface for the browser application by configuring the first display element on the graphical user interface and excluding the second display element from the graphical user interface; and transmitting, by the computing hardware, a second instruction to the browser application causing the browser application to:
retrieve the first dataset via an ontology that maps the first personal data management documentation requirements of the first dataset to master personal data management documentation requirements and the second personal data management documentation requirements of the second dataset to the master personal data management documentation requirements, and
present the second graphical user interface on the user device.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising configuring a control element on the second graphical user interface configured to generate a request to transmit a report comprising a subset of the first data set to a regulatory agency.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising, responsive to detecting a selection of the control element, generating and transmitting the report to the regulatory agency.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first dataset comprises a first requirement of the first personal data management documentation requirements and documentation data associated with the first requirement.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the documentation data comprises a hyperlink configured to initiate a download of a document associated with the first requirement.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining a business sector; and determining the first data set based on the first jurisdiction and the business sector.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the state of the browser application further comprises an indication of the business sector.

8 . A system comprising:
a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions; and processing hardware communicatively coupled to the non-transitory computer-readable medium, wherein the processing hardware is configured to execute the instructions and thereby perform operations comprising:
detecting a state of a browser application executed on a user device, wherein the state of the browser application comprises a request for personal data management documentation requirements data and an indication of a first documentation attribute;
responsive to detecting the state of the browser application, generating a graphical user interface for the browser application by configuring a first display element on the graphical user interface and excluding a second display element from the graphical user interface, wherein:
the first display element is configured to present a first dataset comprising first personal data management documentation requirements data associated with the first documentation attribute, and
the second display element is configured to present a second dataset comprising second personal data management documentation requirements data associated with a second documentation attribute; and

transmitting an instruction to the browser application causing the browser application to:
use the first documentation attribute to retrieve the first dataset via an ontology that maps the first personal data management documentation requirements data of the first dataset to master personal data management documentation requirements data and the second personal data management documentation requirements data of the second dataset to the master personal data management documentation requirements, and
present the graphical user interface on the user device.

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
presenting a master questionnaire requesting the master personal data management documentation requirements data to a user; receiving the master personal data management documentation requirements data from the user; populating the first personal data management documentation requirements data with a first subset of the master personal data management documentation requirements data using the ontology; and populating the second personal data management documentation requirements data with a second subset of the master personal data management documentation requirements data using the ontology.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the first documentation attribute is a jurisdiction or a business sector.

11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the first personal data management documentation requirements data comprises documentation associated with a personal data control associated with the first attribute.

12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise configuring a control element on the graphical user interface configured to generate a request to generate a report based on the first personal data management documentation requirements data.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the operations further comprise:
responsive to detecting a selection of the control element, generating a second graphical user interface for the browser application by configuring a third display element configured to present the report and a second control configured to generate a request that the report be transmitted to a remote system on the second graphical user interface; and transmitting a second instruction to the browser application causing the browser application to present the second graphical user interface on the user device.

14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise, responsive to detecting a selection of the second control element, transmitting the report to the remote system.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by processing hardware, configure the processing hardware to perform operations comprising:
generating a first graphical user interface for a browser application executed on a user device by configuring a first navigation element and a second navigation element on the first graphical user interface, wherein:
the first navigation element is configured for navigating to a first display element that presents a first dataset comprising first personal data management documentation requirements data associated with a first attribute, and
the second navigation element is configured for navigating to a second display element that presents a second dataset compr
