Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The invention includes a forced-air blanket for providing a profusion of air to a patient, comprising a bottom layer with a plurality of openings configured to allow a profusion of air to pass through the bottom layer and an upper layer bonded to the bottom layer around a periphery, wherein the upper layer is also bonded to bottom layer by a plurality of linear seals and a plurality of staked seals. In an embodiment, at least one of more of the linear seals have one end which is joined to a portion of the periphery. In another embodiment, the forced-air blanket may further include at least one elongated seal that is positioned proximate to the inlet. The arrangement of the plurality of staked seals, elongated seals and linear seals assists in providing a blanket that is of a low-profile with even air distribution.

1 - 56 . (canceled) 57 . A method of forming a fibrin hydrogel composition comprising: providing a fibrin hydrogel or precursor thereof, comprising fibrin hydrogel forming salt at a concentration greater than or equal to the threshold concentration to form the fibrin hydrogel; combining the fibrin hydrogel with 0.1 to about 50 wt.-% of a carrier material wherein the carrier material is not water, fibrin hydrogel plasticizer, or a mixture thereof; reducing the salt concentration below the threshold concentration to form the fibrin hydrogel before and/or after combining the fibrin hydrogel with the carrier material. 58 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the fibrin hydrogel precursor comprises an aqueous solution comprising fibrinogen, fibrin-forming enzyme, and the fibrin hydrogel forming salt. 59 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the fibrin hydrogel forming salt comprises calcium salt. 60 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the threshold hydrogel forming salt concentration of the aqueous solution is at least 0.45 wt.-%. 61 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the fibrin hydrogel composition further comprises a fibrin hydrogel plasticizer. 62 . The method of claim 61 , wherein the plasticizer comprises a sugar alcohol, an alkane diol, or a combination thereof. 63 . The method of claim 57 , further comprising forming the fibrin hydrogel composition into a sheet, foam, or a plurality of pieces. 64 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the step of reducing the fibrin hydrogel forming salt concentration comprising rinsing the hydrogel with an aqueous solution. 65 . The method of claim 57 , further comprising dehydrating the fibrin hydrogel composition. 66 . The method of claim 65 , wherein the dehydrating comprises freeze-drying, oven drying, or combination thereof. 67 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the fibrin hydrogel composition has a salt concentration no greater than 20 wt.-%. 68 . The method of claim 57 , further comprising forming the fibrin hydrogel composition into a plurality of pieces. 69 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the carrier material comprises a water soluble polymer having a Fikentscher K-value of at least K-90. 70 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the carrier material comprises a polymer. 71 . The method of claim 70 , wherein the polymer comprises polymerized units of N-vinyl lactam polymer. 72 . The method of claim 57 , wherein the carrier material further comprises a swelling agent. 73 . The method of claim 72 , wherein the swelling agent also functions as a plasticizer for the fibrin hydrogel.
