Polymeric polyoxazolines of the following structure are disclosed: where X is the residue of a polymeric polyol after reaction with a dicarboxylic acid/anhydride; where R 5 is an organic moiety; where Y is an organic moiety containing one or more oxazoline groups; and wherein each R 10 is independently hydrogen or an organic moiety. Methods of making such polyoxazolines and using them in a coating, and packages coated therewith, are also within the scope of the present invention.

1 .- 27 . (canceled) 28 . A vehicle comprising a coating composition applied to at least a portion of a surface of the vehicle, the coating composition comprising: (a) a polymer comprising acidic functionality; and (b) a polymeric polyoxazoline crosslinking agent having the following structure: where X is the residue of a polymeric polyol after reaction with a dicarboxylic acid/anhydride; where R 5 is an organic moiety; where Y is an organic moiety containing one or more oxazoline groups; and wherein each R 10 is independently hydrogen or an organic moiety. 29 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the polymer comprising acidic functionality comprises a polyester polymer and/or a (meth)acrylic polymer. 30 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the coating composition is an aqueous-based composition and (a) and (b) are dispersed in aqueous medium. 31 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the molar ratio of polyoxazoline to carboxylic acid in the coating composition is 0.05:1 to 2:1. 32 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the coating composition further comprises a colorant. 33 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the coating composition is substantially free of formaldehyde. 34 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the coating composition is substantially free of BPA. 35 . The vehicle of claim 28 , wherein the coating composition is a clearcoat, a pigmented basecoat, or a pigmented monocoat. 36 . A method of coating a vehicle, the method comprising applying to at least a portion of a surface of the vehicle a coating composition comprising (a) a polymer comprising acidic functionality; and (b) a polymeric polyoxazoline crosslinking agent having the following structure: where X is the residue of a polymeric polyol after reaction with a dicarboxylic acid/anhydride; where R 5 is an organic moiety; where Y is an organic moiety containing one or more oxazoline groups; and wherein each R 10 is independently hydrogen or an organic moiety. 37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition is applied by electrocoating, spraying, electrostatic spraying, dipping, rolling, and/or brushing. 38 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the polymer comprising acidic functionality comprises a polyester polymer and/or a (meth)acrylic polymer. 39 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition is an aqueous-based composition and (a) and (b) are dispersed in aqueous medium. 40 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the molar ratio of polyoxazoline to carboxylic acid in the coating composition is 0.05:1 to 2:1. 41 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition further comprises a colorant. 42 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition is substantially free of formaldehyde. 43 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition is substantially free of BPA. 44 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the coating composition is applied as a clearcoat, a pigmented basecoat, or a pigmented monocoat.
