A system including a tube for transferring fluid and a lighting assembly. The lighting assembly includes a housing having an opening that is configured to receive the tube and one or more light sources configured to emit high intensity narrow spectrum light in a direction towards the tube when the tube is received by the opening.
Opening claim text (preview).
What is claimed is: 1 . A system comprising: a tube for transferring fluid; and a lighting assembly including: a housing having an opening that is configured to receive the tube; and one or more light sources configured to emit high intensity narrow spectrum light in a direction towards the tube when the tube is received by the opening. 2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the lighting assembly further includes an optical system configured to optically couple light emitted by the one or more light sources to the tube. 3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the lighting assembly further includes a printed circuit board (PCB) mounted on a first surface of the housing. 4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more light sources are mounted on the PCB. 5 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the PCB includes a second opening configured to receive the tube. 6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the one or more light sources are mounted on the PCB such that the one or more light sources are arranged along an outer circumference of the second opening. 7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the tube is coated with a reflective sheathing. 8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the tube is included in one from the group consisting of a coffee machine, an ice machine, and a vending machine. 9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the lighting assembly further includes a tool configured to remove undesired substances coating the tube. 10 . A luminaire comprising: a housing including an opening configured to receive a tube; one or more light sources configured to emit high intensity narrow spectrum (HINS) light; and an optical system configured to optically couple light emitted by the one or more light sources to the tube. 11 . The luminaire of claim 10 , wherein the optical system extends outwards from a first surface of the housing to guide HINS light emitted by the one or more light sources towards the tube. 12 . The luminaire of claim 10 further including a printed circuit board (PCB) mounted on a first surface of the housing. 13 . The luminaire of claim 12 , wherein the PCB includes a second opening configured to receive the tube. 14 . The luminaire of claim 13 , wherein the PCB is mounted to the first surface of the housing such that the second opening is aligned with the opening. 15 . The luminaire of claim 12 , wherein the one or more light sources are mounted on the PCB such that the one or more light sources are arranged along an outer circumference of the second opening. 16 . The luminaire of claim 10 , wherein the tube is coated with a reflective sheathing. 17 . The luminaire of claim 10 further including a tool configured to remove undesired substances coating the tube. 18 . A system comprising: a tube for transferring fluid; a fiber optic cable that extends through an interior of the tube; and a light source configured to project high intensity narrow spectrum light into the fiber optic cable. 19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the fiber optic cable is free floating within the interior of the tube. 20 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the fiber optic cable is supported by a supporting member extending from an interior surface of the pipe.
