Disclosed are nutritional compositions including 2′-fucosyllactose (2′-FL) in combination with lutein and RRR-alpha-tocopherol. The nutritional compositions are useful for improving at least one of gut function, health, and development in an individual. In certain embodiments, the nutritional compositions can improve growth or maturation of the gut, as well as promote a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract thereby treating and/or preventing formula intolerance or other gastrointestinal diseases and/or disorders resulting from suboptimal gastrointestinal flora population/balance.

1 . A method of improving gut health of an infant, the method comprising administering a nutritional composition comprising 2′-fucosyllactose, lutein, and RRR-alpha-tocopherol to an infant. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein administration increases beneficial bacteria in the gut of the infant. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises 2′-fucosyllactose in an amount of about 0.02 mg/mL to about 20 mg/mL. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises lutein in an amount of about 0.001 mg/mL to about 5 mg/mL 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises RRR-alpha-tocopherol in an amount of about 3 mg/L to about 100 mg/L 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition is an infant formula. 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition further comprises a probiotic. 8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the probiotic is a Bifidobacteria. 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the nutritional composition further comprises another human milk oligosaccharide. 10 . A method of increasing the beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of an infant, the method comprising administering a nutritional composition comprising 2′-fucosyllactose, lutein, and RRR-alpha-tocopherol to an infant in need thereof. 11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the beneficial bacteria is at least one of a Bifidobacteria and a Lactobacilli. 12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises 2′-fucosyllactose in an amount of about 0.02 mg/mL to about 20 mg/mL 13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises lutein in an amount of about 0.001 mg/mL to about 5 mg/mL 14 . The method of any claim 10 , wherein the nutritional composition comprises RRR-alpha-tocopherol in an amount of about 3 mg/L to about 100 mg/L 15 . The method claim 10 , wherein the nutritional composition is an infant formula. 16 . The method claim 10 , wherein the nutritional composition further comprises a probiotic. 17 .
