Opening claim text (preview).
1 . A catalyst for an oxychlorination process of hydrocarbons, the catalyst comprising: a catalyst material comprising iron; and a carrier comprising cerium oxide, wherein a content of the catalyst material is 0.1 wt % to 9 wt % based on a total weight of the catalyst. 2 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the content of the catalyst material is 1 wt % to 7 wt % based on the total weight of the catalyst. 3 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the catalyst material further comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of yttrium (Y), an alkali meal, an alkaline earth metal, a lanthanide metal, and a rare earth metal. 4 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein a content of the iron in the catalyst material is 50 wt % to 100 wt % based on a total weight of the catalyst material. 5 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein a content of the iron in the catalyst is 1 wt % to 7 wt % based on the total weight of the catalyst. 6 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the carrier has a specific surface area of 50 m 2 /g to 250 m 2 /g. 7 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the carrier further comprises a composite oxide comprising one or more element selected from the group consisting of Zr, an alkali metal element, an alkaline earth metal element, a lanthanide element, and a rare earth element. 8 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the cerium oxide is present in the carrier in an amount of 50 wt % to 100 wt % based on a total weight of the carrier. 9 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the catalyst is in the form of particles having a diameter of 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm. 10 . A method for preparing the catalyst for an oxychlorination process of hydrocarbons according to claim 1 , the method comprising: preparing a carrier comprising cerium oxide; and supporting a catalyst material comprising iron on the carrier. 11 . A method for preparing an oxychlorination compound of hydrocarbons, comprising: performing an oxychlorination reaction of hydrocarbons in the presence of the catalyst according to claim 1 . 12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the method is performed under a process temperature of 450° C. to 550° C., a pressure of 0.5 atm to 3 atm, and a space velocity of 2,000 h −1 to 20,000 h −1 . 13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the method is performed in a packed bed reactor, a fluidized bed reactor, or a circulating fluidized bed reactor. 14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the process temperature is 450° C. to 530° C. 15 . The catalyst of claim 7 , wherein the composite oxide comprises a rare earth element, wherein said rare earth element is Y.
