Opening claim text (preview).
What is claimed: 1 . A non-pneumatic tire comprising a ground contacting annular tread portion; a shear band; and a reinforcement structure, wherein the reinforcement structure is formed from a reinforced ply strip that is continuously wound from an inner radius to an outer radius to form a plurality of ply spokes, wherein the outer radius is connected to the shearband, and the inner radius is connected to a wheel. 2 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are oriented in the radial direction. 3 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are secured to the rim. 4 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are clamped to the rim. 5 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are secured to a radially inner portion of the shearband. 6 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are preloaded in tension. 7 . The non-pneumatic tire of claim 1 wherein the plurality of ply spokes are formed of parallel reinforcements.
