The present invention addresses the problem of providing a desiccant that can be used for passivation of an electronic device such as an organic electroluminescence element against moisture permeation, as well as an organic thin film including the desiccant, an organic layered film in which the organic thin film is layered, and an electronic device that is provided therewith. This desiccant is characterized by including a compound that emits a hydrophobic substance by absorbing water. This organic thin film is characterized by including this desiccant.

1 . A desiccant comprising a compound which releases a hydrophobic substance upon absorption of water. 2 . An organic thin film containing the desiccant described in claim 1 . 3 . The organic thin film described in claim 2 , wherein the desiccant contains an organometallic oxide. 4 . The organic thin film described in claim 3 , wherein the organometallic oxide has a structure represented by the following Formula (1), R-[M(OR1)y(O—)x-y]n-R Formula (1): wherein, R represents hydrogen atoms, an alkyl group having or more carbon atoms, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, a cycloalkyl group, an acyl group, an alkoxy group, or a heterocyclic group, provided that R may be a carbon chain containing a fluorine atom as a substituent, M represents a metal atom, OR1 represents a fluorinated alkoxy group, x represents a metal valence, y represents any integer between 1 and x, and n represents a degree of polycondensation, respectively. 5 . The organic thin film described in claim 2 , wherein the fluorine ratio of the organic thin film satisfies the following Expression (a), 0.05≤ F/ ( C+F )≤1, Expression (a): wherein, F and C represent densities of fluorine and carbon atoms, respectively. 6 . The organic thin film described in claim 4 , wherein the metal atom represented by M is a Group 2 element. 7 . The organic thin film described in claim 6 , wherein the metal atom represented by M is strontium. 8 . The organic thin film described in claim 4 , wherein the organic thin film contains at least two kinds of organometallic oxides having a structure represented by Formula (1), and wherein at least one kind of metal atom is a Group 2 element. 9 . An organic laminated film in which the organic thin film described in claim 2 and another organic thin film are laminated adjacently. 10 . An electronic device comprising: at least an organic functional layer; and an organic thin film described in claim 2 or an organic multilayer film described in claim 9 above the organic functional layer. 11 . The electronic device described in claim 10 , wherein the organic thin film is an elution preventing film and is disposed between the organic functional layer and the organic thin film. 12 . The electronic device described in claim 10 , wherein the electronic device is an organicelectroluminescent element.
