Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An absorbent member (4) of the present invention includes fiber clusters (11) containing synthetic fibers (11F) and includes water absorbing fibers (12F), and a plurality of the fiber clusters (11) are interlaced with each other or with the water absorbing fibers (12F). The content mass ratio of the fiber clusters (11) to the water absorbing fibers (12F) (fiber cluster ratio) is smaller in the side of a skin-facing surface (the side of a topsheet (2)) than in the side of a non-skin-facing surface (the side of a backsheet (3)) of the absorbent member (4). The fiber cluster (11) includes a main portion (110) formed by two opposite base surfaces (111) and a body surface (112) intersecting the base surfaces (111).

1 . An absorbent member used to be in direct or indirect contact with a skin, having a skin-facing surface to be placed relatively close to a skin of a user using the absorbent member and a non-skin-facing surface to be placed relatively distant from a skin of a user, the absorbent member comprising: fiber clusters containing synthetic fibers; and water absorbing fibers, wherein a plurality of the fiber clusters are interlaced with each other or with the water absorbing fibers, and a content mass ratio of the fiber clusters to the water absorbing fibers is smaller in a side of the skin-facing surface than in a side of the non-skin-facing surface. 2 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the content mass ratio of the fiber clusters to the water absorbing fibers gradually increases from the side of the skin-facing surface toward the side of the non-skin-facing surface. 3 . An absorbent member used to be in direct or indirect contact with a skin, having a skin-facing surface to be placed relatively close to a skin of a user using the absorbent member and a non-skin-facing surface to be placed relatively distant from a skin of a user, the absorbent member comprising: fiber clusters containing synthetic fibers; and water absorbing fibers, wherein a plurality of the fiber clusters are interlaced with each other or with the water absorbing fibers, and a proportion of a mass of the fiber clusters to a total mass of the fiber clusters and the water absorbing fibers is larger in a side of the non-skin-facing surface than in a side of the skin-facing surface. 4 . The absorbent member according to claim 3 , wherein the proportion of the mass of the fiber clusters to the total mass of the fiber clusters and the water absorbing fibers gradually increases from the side of the skin-facing surface toward the side of the non-skin-facing surface. 5 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the proportion of the mass of the fiber clusters to the total mass of the fiber clusters and the water absorbing fibers is 0% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less in the skin-facing surface side and is 50% by mass or more and 100% by mass or less in the non-skin-facing surface side, and a difference therebetween is 15% by mass or more. 6 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the fiber cluster includes a main portion formed by two opposite base surfaces and a body surface intersecting the base surfaces. 7 . The absorbent member according to claim 6 , wherein a total area of the two base surfaces is larger than a total area of the body surface. 8 . The absorbent member according to claim 6 , wherein the base surfaces have a rectangular shape in a planar view, and a short side of the rectangular shape is equal to or shorter than a thickness of the absorbent member. 9 . The absorbent member according to claim 6 , wherein the number of fiber end portions per unit area in the body surface is greater than the number of fiber end portions per unit area in each of the base surfaces. 10 . The absorbent member according to claim 6 , wherein the fiber cluster includes an extending fiber portion that contains a fiber extending outward from the main portion and has a lower fiber density than that of the main portion. 11 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the skin-facing surface side contains a water absorbing polymer. 12 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the synthetic fibers contained in the fiber clusters are non-water absorbing fibers. 13 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the water absorbing fibers are water absorbing cellulose fibers. 14 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the fiber clusters have a water contact angle of less than 90 degrees, and the fiber clusters have been treated with a hydrophilizing agent. 15 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the absorbent member includes an absorbent core and a core-wrap sheet. 16 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein, in the absorbent member, the fiber clusters are bonded to each other or to the water absorbing fibers by interlacement and are capable of being interlaced with each other or with the water absorbing fibers. 17 . The absorbent member according to claim 1 , wherein the fiber clusters are derived from a nonwoven fabric. 18 . An absorbent article comprising the absorbent member according to claim 1 . 19 - 28 .
