A content sharing method is provided. The content sharing method is performed by a display device connected to at least one user terminal. The content sharing method includes displaying content on the display device, receiving information included in a transparent layer of a first user terminal among the at least one user terminal from the first user terminal, and overlapping the transparent layer, including the information received from the first user terminal, on the displayed content.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method for displaying content by a first user terminal connected to a display device, the method comprising: displaying first content based on a first control signal received from the display device; identifying a property of a first transparent layer; and overlaying the first transparent layer on the first content based on the property of the first transparent layer. 2 . The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising: displaying second content by changing the first content based on a second control signal received from the display device; and overlaying a second transparent layer on the second content, based on a property of the second transparent layer, wherein the property of the first transparent layer indicates that the first transparent layer is a content-based layer so that the first transparent layer is synchronized with the first content, and wherein the property of the second transparent layer indicates that the second transparent layer is a content-based layer so that the second transparent layer is synchronized with the second content. 3 . The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising: displaying second content by changing the first content based on a second control signal received from the display device; and overlaying the first transparent layer on the second content, based on the property of the first transparent layer, wherein the property of the first transparent layer indicates that the first transparent layer is general layer on which displayed separately from the first content and the second content. 4 . The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising: receiving a third control signal from the display device, the third control signal being a signal for requesting the first user terminal to share the first transparent layer with the display device; and identifying whether the first transparent layer is sharable, based on the property of the first transparent layer. 5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the property of the first transparent layer indicates that the first transparent layer is a sharable layer so that the first transparent layer is shared with an external device, and wherein the method further comprises: transmitting information included in the first transparent layer to the external device in response to the third control signal. 6 . The method of claim 5 , the method further comprising: receiving first handwriting information on the first transparent layer; and transmitting information included in the first transparent layer to an external device, the information included in the first transparent layer including the first handwriting information. 7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the property of the first transparent layer indicates the first transparent layer is a personal layer so that the first transparent layer is not shared with an external device, and wherein the method further comprises: transmitting information indicating that the first transparent layer is a personal layer to the display device, in response to the third control signal. 8 . The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising: receiving a fourth control signal from the display device, the fourth control signal being a signal for requesting to display a third transparent layer shared from a second user terminal; identifying a property of the third transparent layer based on the fourth control signal; and displaying the third transparent layer on the first content based on a property of the third transparent layer, wherein the property of the third transparent layer indicates that the third transparent layer is a sharable layer so the third transparent layer is shared with an external device.
