1 - 19 . (canceled) 20 . An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having: (i) an inlet flow end and an opposite outlet flow end; and (ii) filter media extending between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end; and (b) a radially outwardly directed housing seal arrangement secured to an end of the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement comprising a seal member mounted on a frame portion; and, (c) a band defining an interior and having the media pack positioned therein and permanently mounted thereto; (i) the band located at an end of the media pack remote from the housing seal arrangement and having a first end, a second end, and two opposite sides extending between the first end and the second end; (ii) the band having a ramp-engagable end portion for selective engagement with a housing ramp during installation of the filter cartridge into a housing; (iii) the ramp-engageable end portion of the band having an end grid extending thereacross; the end grid extending across an end of the media pack remote from the end at which the radially directed housing seal arrangement is located; and (iv) the band having a projection arrangement to provide for grasping of the band during handling; the projection arrangement being in overlap with one of the band first end and the band second end and not in overlap with the other of the band first end and the band second end, and not in overlap with the two opposite band sides; (A) the projection arrangement on the band comprising a handle and, having a recess region provided between a portion of the handle and the media pack; (v) the band being spaced from, and separate from, the frame portion of the housing seal arrangement. 21 . An air filter cartridge arrangement according claim 20 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement includes a platform secured to the band with the recess region provided between the platform and a portion of the band. 22 . An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 21 wherein: (a) the platform defines a perimeter area of at least 3600 sq. mm. 23 . An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the two opposite sides of the band comprise straight, parallel, side extensions. 24 . An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the band includes at least two regions of different widths; (i) a first width being a region of the band accommodating the projection arrangement; and (ii) a second width being a region of the band that does not accommodate the projection arrangement. 25 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the filter media defining a plurality of parallel ridges extending in a direction parallel to a central flow axis between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end. 26 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises rows of the plurality of parallel ridges. 27 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 26 wherein: (a) the rows of the plurality of parallel ridges are separated by facing media. 28 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 27 wherein: (a) the rows of the plurality of parallel ridges separated by the facing media form flutes. 29 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 28 wherein: (a) the flutes comprise inlet flutes open to flow at the inlet flow end and closed to flow at the outlet flow end, and outlet flutes closed to flow at the inlet flow end and open to flow at the outlet flow end. 30 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 29 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises alternating fluted media and facing media. 31 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 30 wherein: (a) the alternating fluted media and facing media are secured to each other at one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 32 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 31 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes do not extend a complete distance between the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 33 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 32 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes are closed prior to one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 34 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the flutes closed prior to one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end are closed by folding the flutes closed. 35 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 20 wherein: (a) the plurality of parallel ridges comprises alternating concave ridge and convex ridge. 36 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 30 wherein: (a) the fluted media comprises alternating concave ridge and convex ridge. 37 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 36 wherein: (a) the fluted media comprising alternating concave ridge and convex ridge is formed by corrugating. 38 . An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having: (i) an inlet flow end and an opposite outlet flow end; and (ii) filter media extending between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end; and (b) a radially outwardly directed housing seal arrangement secured to an end of the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement comprising a seal member mounted on a frame portion; and, (c) a band defining an interior and having the media pack positioned therein and permanently mounted thereto; (i) the band located at an end of the media pack remote from the housing seal arrangement and having a first end, a second end, and two opposite sides extending between the first end and the second end; (ii) the ramp-engageable end portion of the band having an end grid extending thereacross; the end grid extending across an end of the media pack remote from the end at which the radially directed housing seal arrangement is located; and (iv) the band having a projection arrangement to provide for grasping of the band during handling; the projection arrangement being in overlap with one of the band first end and the band second end and not in overlap with the other of the band first end and the band second end, and not in overlap with the two opposite band sides; (A) the projection arrangement on the band comprising a handle and, having a recess region; (B) the projection arrangement includes a platform secured to the band with the recess region provided between the platform and a portion of the band; (C) the platform defines a perimeter area of at least 3600 sq. mm; and (v) the band being spaced from, and separate from, the frame portion of the housing seal arrangement. 39 .
