The invention relates to an optoelectronic lamp with improved omni-directionality by using a reflector cap having an opening.
Opening claim text (preview).
What is claimed is: 1 . A lamp comprising: an optoelectronic light source having an anisotropic light radiation distribution with a main radiation direction, wherein radiated light intensity decreases with increasing angle with respect to the main radiation direction; a first bulb at least partially surrounding the optoelectronic light source; a reflector element provided as a coating of reflective material disposed on an exterior of the first bulb and configured to reflect light emitted by the optoelectronic light source, the reflector element having at least one opening defined therein through which light emitted by the optoelectronic light source passes; and a diffuser element configured to diffusely scatter light passing through the at least one opening of the reflector element. 2 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the first bulb serves as the diffuser element, having a roughened wall that diffusely scatters the light. 3 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the first bulb serves as the diffuser element, having at least one microstructure that diffusely scatters the light. 4 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the first bulb serves as the diffuser element, having a pattern that diffusely scatters the light. 5 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein: the first bulb serves as the diffuser element; and the lamp further comprises a second bulb external to and at least partially surrounding the first bulb, wherein the second bulb is optically transparent. 6 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein: the first bulb serves as the diffuser element; and the lamp further comprises a second bulb external to and at least partially surrounding the first bulb, wherein the second bulb is diffusely scattering. 7 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein: the first bulb is optically transparent; and the lamp further comprises a second bulb external to and at least partially surrounding the first bulb, wherein the second bulb is diffusely scattering and serves as the diffuser element. 8 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is of single-piece construction. 9 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is of multi-piece construction, the reflector element comprising: a first portion having a first opening defined therein; and a second portion at least partially physically separated from the first portion by a second opening. 10 . The lamp according to claim 9 , wherein with respect to the main radiation direction: the first portion spans an angle of about 40°; the second portion spans an angle of about 40°; and the second opening spans an angle of about 10°. 11 . The lamp according to claim 9 , wherein with respect to the main radiation direction: the first portion spans an angle of about 30°; the second portion spans an angle of about 50°; and the second opening spans an angle of about 10°. 12 . The lamp according to claim 9 , wherein with respect to the main radiation direction: the first portion spans an angle of about 20°; the second portion spans an angle of about 60°; and the second opening spans an angle of about 10°. 13 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one opening comprises a first opening that spans an angle of about 45° with respect to the main radiation direction. 14 . The lamp according to claim 13 , wherein the reflector element spans an angle from between about 45° to about 85° with respect to the main radiation direction. 15 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is diffusely reflective and not transmissive. 16 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is diffusely reflective and transmissive but more diffusely reflective than transmissive. 17 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element surrounds the main radiation direction so as to cover at least 75% but less than 100% in relation to a rotation angle about the main radiation direction. 18 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is of an incompletely closed ring form. 19 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element surrounds the main radiation direction so as to cover 100% in relation to a rotation angle about the main radiation direction. 20 . The lamp according to claim 1 , wherein the reflector element is of a completely closed ring form.
