Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes a dew condensation removal unit configured to execute dew condensation removal processing if it is determined that dew condensation may have occurred in the image forming apparatus, a reception unit configured to receive a print job for instructing execution of print processing, a restriction unit configured to restrict the execution of the print processing during execution of the dew condensation removal processing, a display control unit configured to control a display unit to display a selection screen for selecting whether to execute or cancel the print processing based on the print job if the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing, and a print control unit configured to control the print processing to be executed after completion of the dew condensation removal processing if the execution of the print processing is selected.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
a dew condensation removal unit configured to execute dew condensation removal processing in a case where it is determined that dew condensation may have occurred in the image forming apparatus; a reception unit configured to receive a print job for instructing execution of print processing; a restriction unit configured to perform processing for restricting the execution of the print processing during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; a display control unit configured to control a display unit to display a selection screen for selecting whether to execute or cancel the print processing based on the print job in a case where the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; and a print control unit configured to control the print processing to be executed after completion of the dew condensation removal processing in a case where the execution of the print processing is selected, and to control the print job to be cancelled in a case where the cancellation of the print processing is selected.

2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a setting unit configured to make a print restriction setting for restricting the execution of the print processing based on the print job during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing,
wherein the print control unit performs, in a case where the print restriction setting is activated, control to execute the print processing corresponding to the print job received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing, after completion of the dew condensation removal processing, and performs, in a case where the print restriction setting is deactivated, control to execute the print processing based on the print job, even during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing.

3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a setting unit configured to make a print restriction setting for restricting the execution of the print processing based on the print job during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing,
wherein, in a case where the print restriction setting is activated and the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing, the display control unit controls the display unit to display the selection screen, and, in a case where the print restriction setting is deactivated, the display control unit does not control the display unit to display the selection screen, even when the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing.

The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a mode setting unit configured to set whether to cause the image forming apparatus to operate in a dew condensation countermeasure mode for executing the dew condensation removal processing in a case where it is determined that dew condensation may have occurred in the image forming apparatus.

5 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a facsimile (fax) reception unit configured to receive fax data,
wherein, even in a case where the print restriction setting is deactivated, the print control unit restricts execution of printing of the fax data received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing.

6 . A control method for an image forming apparatus, the control method comprising:
executing dew condensation removal processing in a case where it is determined that dew condensation may have occurred in the image forming apparatus; receiving a print job for instructing execution of print processing; performing processing for restricting the execution of the print processing during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; performing display control for controlling a display unit to display a selection screen for selecting whether to execute or cancel the print processing based on the print job in a case where the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; and performing print control for controlling the print processing to be executed after completion of the dew condensation removal processing in a case where the execution of the print processing is selected, and for controlling the print job to be cancelled in a case where the cancellation of the execution of the print processing is selected.

7 . A computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer included in an image forming apparatus to execute a control method, the control method comprising:
executing dew condensation removal processing for executing dew condensation removal processing in a case where it is determined that dew condensation may have occurred in the image forming apparatus; receiving a print job for instructing execution of print processing; performing processing for restricting the execution of the print processing during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; performing display control for controlling a display unit to display a selection screen for selecting whether to execute or cancel the print processing based on the print job in a case where the print job is received during the execution of the dew condensation removal processing; and performing print control for controlling the print processing to be executed after completion of the dew condensation removal processing in a case where the execution of the print processing is selected, and for controlling the print job to be cancelled in a case where the cancellation of the execution of the print processing is selected.
