A method and apparatus are provided for displaying information in a first electronic device. A message is received from a second electronic device. In response to determining that the message includes information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device, information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device is obtained from the received message. A start point and a destination point are set based at least in part on position information of the first electronic device and the information corresponding to the location of the second electronic device. In response to identifying a route between the start point and the destination point, information representing the identified route between the start point and the destination point is displayed on a display of the first electronic device.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method for displaying information in a first electronic device, the method comprising: receiving a message from a second electronic device; in response to determining that the message includes information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device, obtaining information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device from the received message; setting, a start point and a destination point based at least in part on position information of the first electronic device and the information corresponding to the location of the second electronic device; and in response to identifying a route between the start point and the destination point, displaying, on a display of the first electronic device, information representing the identified route between the start point and the destination point. 2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identifying the position information of the first electronic device based on a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal. 3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining that the message includes the information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device based on a value of an identification field included in the message. 4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identifying the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a current position of the first electronic device and a current position of the second electronic device. 5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identify the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a current position of the first electronic device and a position designated by the second electronic device. 6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: identify the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a first position designated by the first electronic device and a second position designated by the second electronic device. 7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: transmitting, to an external server, a request for receiving the information representing identified route between the start point and the destination point; and receiving, form the external server, the identified route between the start point and the destination point. 8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the message is a multimedia message. 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information corresponding to the location of the second electronic device includes a current coordinate of the second electronic device, an address of a certain place, or a name of the certain place. 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the location information of the first electronic device includes a current coordinate of the first electronic device or an address inputted from a user of the first electronic device. 11 . A first electronic device for displaying information, the first electronic device comprising: a display; a communication interface configured to receive a message from a second electronic device; and a processor configured to: in response to determining the message includes information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device, obtain the information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device from the received message, set a start point and a destination point based at least part on position information of the first electronic device and the information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device, and in response to identifying a route between the start point and the destination point, control the display to display information representing the identified route between the start point and the destination point. 12 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the position information of the first electronic device based on a Global Positioning System (GPS) signal. 13 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: determining that the message includes the information corresponding to a location of the second electronic device based on a value of an identification field included in the message. 14 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a current position of the first electronic device and a current position of the second electronic device. 15 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a current position of the first electronic device and a position designated by the second electronic device. 16 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the route between the start point and the destination point by identifying a route between a first position designated by the first electronic device and a second position designated by the second electronic device. 17 . The first electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to: control the communication interface to transmit, to an external server, a request for receiving the information representing identified route between the start point and the destination point, and control the communication interface to receive, from the external server, the information representing identified route between the start point and the destination point. 18 . The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the message is a multimedia message. 19 . The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the information corresponding to the location of the second electronic device includes a current coordinate of the second electronic device, an address of a certain place, or a name of the certain place. 20 . The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the location information of the first electronic device includes a current coordinate of the first electronic device or an address inputted from a user of the first electronic device.
